1And it came to pass after this, that David smote the Philistines, and subdued them, and took Gath and its daughter-towns out of the hand of the Philistines.
2And he smote Moab; and Moab became servants to David, bearers of a present.
3And David smote Hadadezer king of Zobah toward Hamath, as he went to set up his hand at the river Euphrates.
4And David captured from him a thousand chariots, and seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand men (ish) on foot; and David hamstrung all the chariot horses, but left of them a hundred chariots.
5And Aram of Damascus came to help Hadadezer king of Zobah, and David smote among the Arameans twenty-two thousand men (ish).
6And David put garrisons in Aram of Damascus; and Aram became servants to David, bearers of a present. And YHWH saved (yasha) David wherever he went.
7And David took the shields of gold that were upon the servants of Hadadezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.
8And from Tibhath and from Cun, cities of Hadadezer, David took very much bronze; with it Solomon made the bronze sea, and the pillars, and the vessels of bronze.
9And Tou king of Hamath heard that David had smitten all the army of Hadadezer king of Zobah.
10And he sent Hadoram his son to king David, to ask of his welfare, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer and smitten him — for Hadadezer was a man (ish) of wars with Tou — and with him were all kinds of vessels of gold and silver and bronze.
11These also king David dedicated to YHWH, with the silver and the gold that he had carried from all the nations: from Edom, and from Moab, and from the sons of Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from Amalek.
12And Abishai the son of Zeruiah smote of Edom in the Valley of Salt eighteen thousand.
13And he put garrisons in Edom; and all Edom became servants to David. And YHWH saved (yasha) David wherever he went.
14And David reigned over all Israel; and he was doing judgment (mishpat) and righteousness for all his people.
15And Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the army; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder.
16And Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Abimelech the son of Abiathar, were priests; and Shavsha was scribe.
17And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and the sons of David were the chief ones at the hand of the king.
