Now concerning things sacrificed to idols: we know that we all have gnosis(knowledge); gnosis(knowledge) puffs up, but agape(love) builds up.
If anyone thinks he knows anything, he has not yet known as he ought to know;
but if anyone agapes(loves) God, this man is known by Him.
Therefore concerning the eating of things sacrificed to idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is no God but one.
For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth — as indeed there are many gods and many lords —
yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom are all things and we exist for Him; and one Lord, Yeshua(Jesus) Messiah(Christ), through whom are all things and we exist through Him.
However not all have this gnosis(knowledge); but some, being accustomed to idols until now, eat as if it were something sacrificed to an idol, and their syneidesis(conscience), being weak, is defiled.
But food will not commend us to God; we are neither worse if we do not eat, nor better if we do eat.
But take care that this exousia(liberty, authority) of yours does not somehow become a stumbling block to the weak.
For if someone sees you, the one who has gnosis(knowledge), dining in an idol's temple, will not his syneidesis(conscience), while he is weak, be built up to eat things sacrificed to idols?
For through your gnosis(knowledge) the weak brother is destroyed — he for whom Messiah(Christ) died.
And by sinning against the brothers and wounding their syneidesis(conscience) while it is weak, you sin against Messiah(Christ).
Therefore, if food skandalizo(causes-to-stumble) my brother, I will never eat meat again, so that I will not skandalizo(cause-to-stumble) my brother.
