Peter, an apostle of Yeshua(Jesus) Messiah(Christ), to the chosen ones who are sojourners of the diaspora(dispersion) of Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,
according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in the sanctification of the pneuma(spirit), for obedience and sprinkling with the blood of Yeshua(Jesus) Messiah(Christ): may charis(grace) and eirene(peace) be multiplied to you.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Yeshua(Jesus) Messiah(Christ), who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living elpis(hope) through the resurrection of Yeshua(Jesus) Messiah(Christ) from the dead,
to an inheritance imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you,
who are being guarded by the dynamis(power) of God through faith for a Salvation ready to be revealed in the last kairos(appointed-time).
In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials,
so that the testing of your faith — much more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire — may be found to result in praise and doxa(glory) and honor at the revelation of Yeshua(Jesus) Messiah(Christ).
Though you have not seen Him, you love Him; though you do not now see Him, you believe in Him and rejoice with chara(joy) that is inexpressible and filled with doxa(glory),
obtaining the outcome of your faith — the Salvation of your psychai(souls).
Concerning this Salvation, the prophets who prophesied about the charis(grace) that was to come to you searched and inquired carefully,
inquiring what person or what kairos(appointed-time) the pneuma(spirit) of Messiah(Christ) within them was indicating when it testified in advance to the sufferings of Messiah(Christ) and the doxai(glories) to follow.
It was revealed to them that they were serving not themselves but you, in the things that have now been announced to you through those who proclaimed the good news to you by the hagio(holy) pneuma(spirit) sent from heaven — things into which angels epithymeo(long) to look.
Therefore, having girded up the loins of your dianoia(thought), being sober-minded, set your elpis(hope) fully on the charis(grace) that will be brought to you at the revelation of Yeshua(Jesus) Messiah(Christ).
As obedient children, do not be conformed to the epithymiai(lusts, desires, strong cravings) of your former ignorance,
but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct,
since it is written, "Be holy, for I am holy."
And if you call on Him as Father who krino(judge)s impartially according to each one's work, conduct yourselves with fear during the chronos(chronological-time) of your sojourning,
knowing that you were redeemed not with perishable things such as silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your fathers,
but with the precious blood of Messiah(Christ), like that of a lamb without blemish or spot.
He was foreknown before the foundation of the world but was made manifest in the last chronos(chronological-time)s for your sake,
who through Him are believers in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him doxa(glory), so that your faith and elpis(hope) are in God.
Having purified your psychai(souls) by your obedience to the aletheia(truth) through the pneuma(spirit) for a sincere philadelphia(brotherly-love), love one another earnestly from a pure kardia(heart, soul-domain),
since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable — through the living and abiding logos(word) of God.
For "all sarx(flesh) is like grass and all the doxa(glory) of man like the flower of grass — the grass withers, and the flower falls,"
but the rhema(spoken-word) of the Lord abides forever; and this rhema(spoken-word) is the good news that was proclaimed to you.
