2 Chronicles 14

Yeshua Literal Version (YLV)

1And Asa did the good and the right in the eyes of YHWH his God,

2and he removed the foreign altars and the high places, and broke the pillars, and cut down the Asherim;

3and he said to Judah to seek YHWH, the God of their fathers, and to do the Torah and the commandment (mitzvah).

4And he removed from all the cities of Judah the high places and the sun-images; and the kingdom was quiet before him.

5And he built fortified cities in Judah, for the land was quiet, and there was no war with him in those years, because YHWH had given him rest.

6And he said to Judah: "Let us build these cities, and surround them with a wall and towers, doors and bars; the land is still before us, because we have sought YHWH our God; we have sought, and He has given us rest round about." And they built and prospered.

7And Asa had an army bearing buckler and spear from Judah, three hundred thousand; and from Benjamin, bearing shield and treading the bow, two hundred eighty thousand; all these were mighty men of valor.

8And there came out against them Zerah the Cushite with an army of a thousand thousand, and chariots three hundred; and he came as far as Mareshah.

9And Asa went out before him, and they arrayed battle in the valley of Zephathah at Mareshah.

10And Asa called to YHWH his God, and said: "YHWH, there is none beside You to help between the mighty and the one with no strength; help us, YHWH our God, for upon You we lean, and in Your name we have come against this multitude. YHWH, You are our God; let not man prevail against You."

11And YHWH smote the Cushites before Asa and before Judah; and the Cushites fled.

12And Asa and the people who were with him pursued them as far as Gerar; and there fell of the Cushites until there was no reviving for them, for they were broken before YHWH and before His camp; and they carried away very much spoil.

13And they struck all the cities round about Gerar, for the dread of YHWH was upon them; and they plundered all the cities, for much spoil was in them.

14And also the tents of livestock they struck, and captured sheep in abundance, and camels; and they returned to Jerusalem.
