2 Kings 21

Yeshua Literal Version (YLV)

1Manasseh was a son of twelve years when he became king, and fifty-five years he reigned in Jerusalem; and his mother's name was Hephzibah.

2And he did the evil in the eyes of YHWH, according to the abominations of the nations whom YHWH dispossessed from before the sons of Israel.

3And he turned back and built the high places which Hezekiah his father had destroyed; and he raised up altars for Baal, and made an Asherah, as Ahab king of Israel had done, and bowed down to all the host of the heavens, and served (avad) them.

4And he built altars in the house of YHWH, of which YHWH had said, "In Jerusalem I will put My name."

5And he built altars for all the host of the heavens in the two courts of the house of YHWH.

6And he made his son pass through the fire, and practiced soothsaying, and used divination, and made a medium and spiritists; he did much evil in the eyes of YHWH, to provoke Him.

7And he set the carved image of the Asherah which he had made in the house of which YHWH had said to David and to Solomon his son, "In this house, and in Jerusalem which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I will put My name forever;

8and I will not again make the foot of Israel wander from the ground (adamah) which I gave to their fathers, if only they take care to do according to all that I commanded (tzivvah) them, and according to all the Torah which My servant Moses commanded (tzivvah) them."

9But they did not listen; and Manasseh led them astray to do the evil more than the nations whom YHWH destroyed from before the sons of Israel.

10And YHWH spoke by the hand of His servants the prophets, saying,

11"Because Manasseh king of Judah has done these abominations—he has done more evil than all that the Amorites who were before him did, and he has also made Judah sin with his idols—

12therefore thus says YHWH, the God of Israel: Behold, I am bringing evil upon Jerusalem and Judah, that whoever hears of it, both his ears shall tingle.

13And I will stretch out over Jerusalem the line of Samaria and the plummet of the house of Ahab; and I will wipe Jerusalem as one wipes a dish, wiping it and turning it on its face.

14And I will forsake the remnant of My inheritance, and give them into the hand of their enemies; and they shall become a prey and a spoil to all their enemies,

15because they have done the evil in My eyes, and have been provoking Me from the day their fathers came out of Egypt even to this day."

16And also innocent blood Manasseh shed very much, until he had filled Jerusalem from mouth to mouth; besides his sin with which he made Judah sin, to do the evil in the eyes of YHWH.

17And the rest of the matters of Manasseh, and all that he did, and his sin that he sinned, are they not written on the book of the matters of the days of the kings of Judah?

18And Manasseh lay down with his fathers, and was buried in the garden of his house, in the garden of Uzza; and Amon his son reigned in his place.

19Amon was a son of twenty-two years when he became king, and two years he reigned in Jerusalem; and his mother's name was Meshullemeth the daughter of Haruz of Jotbah.

20And he did the evil in the eyes of YHWH, as Manasseh his father had done.

21And he walked in all the way that his father walked, and served (avad) the idols that his father served (avad), and bowed down to them.

22And he forsook YHWH, the God of his fathers, and did not walk in the way of YHWH.

23And the servants of Amon conspired against him, and put the king to death in his house.

24But the people of the land struck down all those who conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his place.

25And the rest of the matters of Amon which he did, are they not written on the book of the matters of the days of the kings of Judah?

26And he buried him in his grave in the garden of Uzza; and Josiah his son reigned in his place.
