2 Samuel 6

Yeshua Literal Version (YLV)

1And David again gathered every chosen man in Israel, thirty thousand.

2And David arose and went, and all the people who were with him, from Baale-judah, to bring up from there the ark of God, which is called by the Name, the name of YHWH of hosts (tzevaot) who sits upon the cherubim.

3And they made the ark of God ride upon a new cart, and brought it from the house of Abinadab that was on the hill; and Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, were driving the new cart.

4And they brought it from the house of Abinadab that was on the hill, with the ark of God; and Ahio went before the ark.

5And David and all the house of Israel were playing before YHWH with all manner of cypress-wood instruments, and with harps, and with lyres, and with timbrels, and with sistrums, and with cymbals.

6And they came to the threshing floor of Nacon, and Uzzah reached out to the ark of God and took hold of it, for the oxen had stumbled.

7And the anger of YHWH was kindled against Uzzah, and God struck him there for the error; and he died there beside the ark of God.

8And it was distressing to David, because YHWH had broken forth a breach against Uzzah; and he called that place Perez-uzzah, until this day.

9And David feared YHWH on that day, and said: "How shall the ark of YHWH come to me?"

10And David was not willing to remove the ark of YHWH to himself, into the city of David; and David turned it aside to the house of Obed-edom the Gittite.

11And the ark of YHWH dwelt in the house of Obed-edom the Gittite three months; and YHWH blessed Obed-edom and all his house.

12And it was told to king David, saying: "YHWH has blessed the house of Obed-edom and all that is his, because of the ark of God." And David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-edom into the city of David with joy.

13And it came to pass, when the bearers of the ark of YHWH had stepped six paces, that he sacrificed an ox and a fatling.

14And David was whirling with all his might before YHWH; and David was girded with a linen ephod.

15And David and all the house of Israel were bringing up the ark of YHWH with a shout and with the sound of the horn.

16And it came to pass, as the ark of YHWH came into the city of David, that Michal the daughter of Saul looked out through the window, and saw king David leaping and whirling before YHWH; and she despised him in her heart.

17And they brought in the ark of YHWH, and set it in its place, in the midst of the tent that David had pitched for it; and David offered up burnt offerings before YHWH, and peace offerings.

18And David finished offering up the burnt offering and the peace offerings, and he blessed the people in the name of YHWH of hosts (tzevaot).

19And he apportioned to all the people, to all the multitude of Israel, from man (ish) to woman (ishah), to each man (ish) one cake of bread, and one portion, and one raisin-cake; and all the people went, each man (ish) to his house.

20And David returned to bless his house; and Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said: "How honored was the king of Israel today, who uncovered himself today before the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the empty ones shamelessly uncovers himself!"

21And David said to Michal: "Before YHWH, who chose me above your father and above all his house, to appoint me (tzivvah) prince over the people of YHWH, over Israel — so I will play before YHWH.

22And I will be yet more lightly esteemed than this, and I will be lowly in my own eyes; but with the handmaids of whom you have spoken, with them I will be honored."

23And to Michal the daughter of Saul there was no child until the day of her death.
