2 Samuel 9

Yeshua Literal Version (YLV)

1And David said: "Is there yet anyone who is left of the house of Saul, that I may do with him kindness for the sake of Jonathan?"

2And of the house of Saul there was a servant, and his name was Ziba, and they called him to David; and the king said to him: "Are you Ziba?" And he said: "Your servant."

3And the king said: "Is there no more a man (ish) of the house of Saul, that I may do with him the kindness of God?" And Ziba said to the king: "Yet there is a son of Jonathan, lame in the feet."

4And the king said to him: "Where is he?" And Ziba said to the king: "Behold, he is in the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, in Lo-debar."

5And king David sent and took him from the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, from Lo-debar.

6And Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, came to David, and fell on his face and bowed down. And David said: "Mephibosheth!" And he said: "Behold your servant."

7And David said to him: "Do not fear, for I will surely do with you kindness for the sake of Jonathan your father, and I will restore to you all the field of Saul your father; and you shall eat bread at my table continually."

8And he bowed down and said: "What is your servant, that you have turned to the dead dog such as I am?"

9And the king called to Ziba, the young man of Saul, and said to him: "All that was Saul's and all his house I have given to your master's son.

10And you shall work (avad) the ground (adamah) for him, you and your sons and your servants, and you shall bring in the produce, and it shall be bread for your master's son, and he shall eat it; but Mephibosheth, your master's son, shall eat bread continually at my table." Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.

11And Ziba said to the king: "According to all that my lord the king commands (tzivvah) his servant, so shall your servant do." And Mephibosheth was eating at my table as one of the king's sons.

12And Mephibosheth had a young son, and his name was Mica; and all the dwelling of the house of Ziba were servants to Mephibosheth.

13And Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem, for he was eating continually at the king's table; and he was lame in both his feet.
