1When there is a dispute between men (ish), and they come near to the judgment (mishpat), and they judge them, then they justify the righteous and condemn the wicked.
2And it shall be, if the wicked one is a son of beating, then the judge shall make him lie down, and one shall beat him before his face, according to the measure of his wickedness, by number.
3Forty times he may beat him; he shall not add; lest he add to beat him beyond these a great beating, and your brother be dishonored before your eyes.
4You shall not muzzle an ox in his threshing.
5When brothers dwell together, and one of them dies, and he has no son, the wife (ishah) of the dead shall not be outside to a strange man (ish); her husband's brother shall go in to her, and take her to himself for a wife (ishah), and perform the levirate-duty for her.
6And it shall be, the firstborn whom she bears shall rise upon the name of his dead brother, that his name not be blotted out from Israel.
7And if the man (ish) does not desire to take his brother's wife, then his brother's wife shall go up to the gate, to the elders, and say, "My husband's brother refuses to raise up for his brother a name in Israel; he is not willing to perform the levirate-duty for me."
8Then the elders of his city shall call him and speak to him; and he stands and says, "I do not desire to take her,"
9then his brother's wife shall draw near to him before the eyes of the elders, and she shall draw off his sandal from upon his foot, and spit in his face; and she shall answer and say, "So shall it be done to the man (ish) who does not build up the house of his brother."
10And his name shall be called in Israel, "The house of the one whose sandal is drawn off."
11When men (ish) struggle together, a man (ish) and his brother, and the wife (ishah) of the one draws near to deliver her husband (ish) from the hand of the one striking him, and she puts out her hand and seizes by his private parts,
12then you shall cut off her hand; your eye shall not pity.
13You shall not have in your bag a stone and a stone, a great and a small.
14You shall not have in your house an ephah and an ephah, a great and a small.
15A whole and just stone shall be to you, a whole and just ephah shall be to you; that your days may be long upon the ground (adamah) which YHWH your God is giving to you.
16For an abomination of YHWH your God is everyone doing these things, everyone doing injustice.
17Remember what Amalek did to you in the way, when you came out from Egypt;
18how he met you in the way and cut off your rear, all the feeble ones behind you, when you were faint and weary; and he did not fear God.
19And it shall be, when YHWH your God gives you rest from all your enemies round about, in the land which YHWH your God is giving to you as an inheritance to possess it, you shall blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under the heavens; you shall not forget.
