Send your bread upon the face of the waters, for in the multitude of days you will find it.
Give a portion to seven, and also to eight; for you do not know what evil will be upon the earth.
If the clouds are full of rain, they empty upon the earth; and if a tree falls in the south, or in the north, the place where the tree falls, there it will be.
He who watches the spirit (ruach) will not sow, and he who looks at the clouds will not reap.
As you do not know what is the way of the spirit (ruach), like the bones in the belly of the full one, so you do not know the work of God who makes all.
In the morning sow your seed, and at evening do not let your hand rest; for you do not know which will prosper, this or that, or whether both of them alike will be good.
And the light is sweet, and good for the eyes to see the sun.
For if the man (adam) lives many years, in them all let him rejoice; and let him remember the days of darkness, for they will be many. All that comes is vanity.
Rejoice, young man, in your youth, and let your heart make you glad in the days of your young manhood; and walk in the ways of your heart and in the sight of your eyes; but know that for all these God will bring you into judgment (mishpat).
And remove vexation from your heart, and put away evil from your flesh (basar); for childhood and youth are vanity.
