1And Moses answered and said, "And behold, they will not believe me, and they will not listen to my voice; for they will say, YHWH has not appeared to you."
2And YHWH said to him, "What is this in your hand?" And he said, "A rod."
3And He said, "Cast it to the ground." And he cast it to the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it.
4And YHWH said to Moses, "Put forth your hand and take hold of its tail" — and he put forth his hand and laid hold of it, and it became a rod in his palm —
5so that they may believe that YHWH, the God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has appeared to you.
6And YHWH said further to him, "Bring now your hand into your bosom." And he brought his hand into his bosom, and he brought it out, and behold, his hand was leprous like snow.
7And He said, "Return your hand to your bosom." And he returned his hand to his bosom, and he brought it out from his bosom, and behold, it had returned like his flesh (basar).
8And it shall be, if they will not believe you, and will not listen to the voice of the first sign (ot), that they will believe the voice of the latter sign (ot).
9And it shall be, if they will not believe even these two signs (ot), and will not listen to your voice, that you shall take from the water of the river and pour it on the dry ground; and the water which you take from the river shall become blood on the dry land.
10And Moses said to YHWH, "Oh, my Lord (Adonai), I am not a man (ish) of words, neither yesterday nor the day before, nor since You have spoken to Your servant; for I am heavy of mouth and heavy of tongue."
11And YHWH said to him, "Who set a mouth for the man (adam)? Or who makes mute, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Is it not I, YHWH?
12And now go, and I will be with your mouth, and I will teach you what you shall speak."
13And he said, "Oh, my Lord (Adonai), send, I pray, by the hand of whom You will send."
14And the anger of YHWH was kindled against Moses, and He said, "Is there not Aaron your brother the Levite? I know that he can surely speak. And also, behold, he is coming out to meet you, and he will see you and be glad in his heart.
15And you shall speak to him and put the words in his mouth; and I will be with your mouth and with his mouth, and I will teach you both what you shall do.
16And he shall speak for you to the people; and it shall be that he will be for you as a mouth, and you will be for him as God.
17And this rod you shall take in your hand, with which you shall do the signs (ot)."
18And Moses went and returned to Jethro his father-in-law, and said to him, "Let me go, I pray, and return to my brothers who are in Egypt, and see whether they are still living (chai)." And Jethro said to Moses, "Go in peace."
19And YHWH said to Moses in Midian, "Go, return to Egypt; for all the men (ish) who sought your soul (nephesh) are dead."
20And Moses took his wife (ishah) and his sons, and made them ride on the donkey, and returned to the land of Egypt; and Moses took the rod of God in his hand.
21And YHWH said to Moses, "When you go to return to Egypt, see all the wonders (mofet) which I have put in your hand, and you shall do them before Pharaoh; but I will harden his heart, and he will not let the people go.
22And you shall say to Pharaoh, Thus says YHWH: Israel is My son, My firstborn.
23And I say to you, Let My son go, that he may serve Me (avad); and you have refused to let him go. Behold, I am slaying your son, your firstborn."
24And it came to pass on the way, at the lodging place, that YHWH met him and sought to put him to death.
25And Zipporah took a flint and cut off the foreskin of her son, and touched it to his feet, and said, "Surely you are a bridegroom of blood to me."
26So He let him alone. Then she said, "A bridegroom of blood," because of the circumcision.
27And YHWH said to Aaron, "Go to meet Moses to the wilderness." And he went, and met him at the mountain of God, and kissed him.
28And Moses told Aaron all the words of YHWH with which He had sent him, and all the signs (ot) which He had commanded him (tzivvah).
29And Moses and Aaron went and gathered all the elders of the sons of Israel.
30And Aaron spoke all the words which YHWH had spoken to Moses, and did the signs (ot) in the sight of the people.
31And the people believed; and they heard that YHWH had visited the sons of Israel, and that He had seen their affliction, and they bowed their heads and worshiped.
