Ezekiel 31

Yeshua Literal Version (YLV)

And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the third month, in the first of the month, the word of YHWH came to me, saying:

Son of man (adam), say to Pharaoh king of Egypt and to his multitude: Whom are you like in your greatness?

Behold, Assyria was a cedar in Lebanon, beautiful of branch and a shadowing forest, and high of stature; and among the thick boughs was its top.

The waters made it great, the deep exalted it; with her rivers going round about her planting, and her channels she sent out to all the trees of the field.

Therefore its stature was higher than all the trees of the field, and its boughs multiplied, and its branches grew long from the many waters when it sent them out.

In its boughs nested all the birds of the heavens, and under its branches all the beasts of the field gave birth, and in its shadow dwelt all great nations.

And it was beautiful in its greatness, in the length of its branches; for its root was by many waters.

Cedars did not surpass it in the garden of God; cypresses were not like its boughs, and plane trees were not like its branches; no tree in the garden of God was like it in its beauty.

Beautiful I made it in the abundance of its branches; and all the trees of Eden that were in the garden of God envied it.

Therefore thus says my Lord (Adonai) YHWH: Because you have grown high in stature, and it set its top among the thick boughs, and its heart was lifted up in its height;

I will give it into the hand of the mighty one of the nations; he shall surely deal with it; according to its wickedness I have driven it out.

And strangers, the most terrible of nations, cut it off and abandoned it; upon the mountains and in all the valleys its branches fell, and its boughs were broken in all the channels of the land; and from its shadow went down all the peoples of the earth, and they abandoned it.

Upon its fallen trunk dwell all the birds of the heavens, and upon its branches were all the beasts of the field;

to the end that none of the trees of the waters exalt themselves in their stature, nor set their top among the thick boughs, nor that their mighty ones stand in their height, all that drink water; for all of them are given to death, to the lower earth, in the midst of the sons of man (adam), to those going down to the pit.

Thus says my Lord (Adonai) YHWH: In the day it went down to Sheol I caused mourning, I covered the deep over it, and I restrained its rivers, and the many waters were held back; and I made Lebanon mourn over it, and all the trees of the field fainted over it.

From the sound of its fall I made nations quake, when I brought it down to Sheol with those going down to the pit; and they were comforted in the lower earth, all the trees of Eden, the choice and good of Lebanon, all that drink water.

They also went down with it to Sheol, to those slain by the sword; and its arm, those who dwelt in its shadow in the midst of the nations.

To whom are you thus like in glory and in greatness among the trees of Eden? Yet you shall be brought down with the trees of Eden to the lower earth; in the midst of the uncircumcised you shall lie, with those slain by the sword. This is Pharaoh and all his multitude, declares my Lord (Adonai) YHWH.
