Genesis 11

Yeshua Literal Version (YLV)

And the whole earth was of one lip and the same words.

And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar, and dwelt there.

And they said, each man (ish) to his neighbor, "Come, let us make bricks and burn them thoroughly." And the brick was to them for stone, and the bitumen was to them for mortar.

And they said, "Come, let us build for ourselves a city and a tower, and its top in the heavens; and let us make for ourselves a name, lest we be scattered upon the face of all the earth."

And YHWH came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of man (adam) had built.

And YHWH said, "Behold, one people, and one lip for all of them; and this they begin to do, and now nothing will be withheld from them which they purpose to do.

Come, let us go down, and confound there their lip, that they may not understand, each man (ish) the lip of his neighbor."

And YHWH scattered them from there over the face of all the earth, and they ceased to build the city.

Therefore its name was called Babel, because there YHWH confounded the lip of all the earth, and from there YHWH scattered them over the face of all the earth.
