Genesis 2

Yeshua Literal Version (YLV)

And the heavens and the earth were finished, and all their host.

And God finished on the seventh day his work which he had made, and he shabbatted on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

And God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it he shabbatted from all his work which God created to make.

These are the generations of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that YHWH God made earth and heavens.

And every shrub of the field was not yet in the earth, and every herb of the field had not yet sprouted, for YHWH God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was no man (adam) to work (avad) the ground (adamah).

And a mist went up from the earth and watered all the face of the ground (adamah).

And YHWH God formed Adam of dust (aphar) from the ground (adamah), and breathed into his nostrils the breath (neshamah) of life, and Adam became a living soul (nephesh).

And YHWH God planted a garden in Eden, from the east, and there he put Adam whom he had formed.

And YHWH God made to sprout from the ground (adamah) every tree pleasant to sight and good for food, and the tree of life (chai) in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

And a river was going out from Eden to water the garden, and from there it parted and became four heads.

The name of the first is Pishon; it is the one surrounding all the land of Havilah, where there is gold.

And the gold of that land is good; there is the bdellium and the onyx stone.

And the name of the second river is Gihon; it is the one surrounding all the land of Cush.

And the name of the third river is Hiddekel; it is the one going east of Asshur. And the fourth river, it is the Euphrates.

And YHWH God took Adam and put him in the garden of Eden to work (avad) it and to keep it.

And YHWH God commanded (tzivvah) Adam, saying, "Of every tree of the garden you shall surely eat,

but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you shall not eat of it, for in the day you eat of it you shall surely die."

And YHWH God said, "It is not good for Adam to be alone; I will make him a helper as his counterpart."

And YHWH God formed out of the ground (adamah) every living thing (chai) of the field and every bird of the heavens, and brought it to Adam to see what he would call it; and whatever Adam called it, the living soul (nephesh), that was its name.

And Adam called names to all the cattle and to the bird of the heavens and to every living thing (chai) of the field; but for Adam he did not find a helper as his counterpart.

And YHWH God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept, and he took one of his ribs and closed up flesh (basar) in its place.

And YHWH God built the rib which he had taken from Adam into a woman (ishah), and brought her to Adam.

And Adam said, "This now is bone of my bones and flesh (basar) of my flesh (basar); for this one it shall be called Woman (ishah), because from Man (ish) this one was taken."

Therefore a man (ish) shall leave his father and his mother and cleave to his woman (ishah), and they shall become one flesh (basar).

And they were both naked, Adam and his woman (ishah), and they were not ashamed.
