1And Abraham added and took a wife (ishah), and her name was Keturah.
2And she bore to him Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah.
3And Jokshan begot Sheba and Dedan; and the sons of Dedan were Asshurim, and Letushim, and Leummim.
4And the sons of Midian: Ephah, and Epher, and Hanoch, and Abida, and Eldaah. All these were the sons of Keturah.
5And Abraham gave all that he had to Isaac.
6But to the sons of the concubines whom Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts; and he sent them away from Isaac his son, while he was yet living (chai), eastward, to the land of the east.
7And these are the days of the years of the life (chai) of Abraham which he lived: a hundred years and seventy years and five years.
8And Abraham expired and died in a good old age, old and full, and he was gathered to his peoples.
9And Isaac and Ishmael his sons buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite, which is before Mamre,
10the field which Abraham bought from the sons of Heth; there Abraham was buried, and Sarah his wife (ishah).
11And it came to pass after the death of Abraham, that God blessed Isaac his son; and Isaac dwelt by Beer-lahai-roi.
12And these are the generations of Ishmael, Abraham's son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah's handmaid, bore to Abraham.
13And these are the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to their generations: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebaioth; and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,
14and Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa,
15Hadad, and Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah.
16These are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names, by their villages and by their encampments; twelve princes according to their nations.
17And these are the years of the life (chai) of Ishmael: a hundred years and thirty years and seven years; and he expired and died, and was gathered to his peoples.
18And they dwelt from Havilah unto Shur, which is before Egypt, as you go toward Asshur; before the face of all his brothers he fell.
19And these are the generations of Isaac, Abraham's son: Abraham begot Isaac.
20And Isaac was a son of forty years when he took Rebekah, the daughter of Bethuel the Aramean of Paddan-aram, the sister of Laban the Aramean, to himself for a wife (ishah).
21And Isaac entreated YHWH for his wife (ishah), because she was barren; and YHWH let himself be entreated of him, and Rebekah his wife (ishah) conceived.
22And the children struggled together within her; and she said, "If it is so, why am I thus?" And she went to inquire of YHWH.
23And YHWH said to her, "Two nations are in your womb, and two peoples shall be separated from your bowels; and one people shall be stronger than the other people, and the elder shall serve (avad) the younger."
24And her days to be delivered were fulfilled, and behold, twins were in her womb.
25And the first came out ruddy, all of him like a hairy mantle; and they called his name Esau.
26And after that his brother came out, and his hand holding the heel of Esau; and his name was called Jacob. And Isaac was a son of sixty years when she bore them.
27And the boys grew; and Esau was a man (ish) knowing hunting, a man (ish) of the field; and Jacob was a complete man (ish), dwelling in tents.
28And Isaac loved Esau, because game was in his mouth; but Rebekah loved Jacob.
29And Jacob boiled pottage; and Esau came in from the field, and he was faint.
30And Esau said to Jacob, "Let me gulp, I pray, of the red, this red, for I am faint." Therefore his name was called Edom.
31And Jacob said, "Sell to me this day your birthright."
32And Esau said, "Behold, I am going to die; and what is this birthright to me?"
33And Jacob said, "Swear to me this day"; and he swore to him, and he sold his birthright to Jacob.
34And Jacob gave to Esau bread and pottage of lentils; and he ate and drank, and rose up and went his way. And Esau despised the birthright.
