Hosea 8

Yeshua Literal Version (YLV)

To your mouth, a trumpet! Like the eagle against the house of YHWH; because they have transgressed my covenant (berit), and against my Torah they have rebelled.

To me they cry, "My God, we Israel know you."

Israel has cast off good; the enemy shall pursue him.

They have made kings, but not from me; they have made princes, but I did not know it. Of their silver and their gold they made for themselves idols, that it may be cut off.

He has cast off your calf, O Samaria; my anger is kindled against them. How long will they be unable to attain innocence?

For from Israel is this also: a craftsman made it, and it is not God; for the calf of Samaria shall become splinters.

For they sow spirit (ruach), and the whirlwind they reap. It has no standing grain; the sprout yields no meal; if perhaps it yields, strangers swallow it up.

Swallowed up is Israel; now they have become among the nations like a vessel in which there is no delight.

For they have gone up to Assyria, a wild donkey alone by itself; Ephraim has hired lovers.

Even though they hire among the nations, now I will gather them; and they begin to diminish under the burden of the king and princes.

For Ephraim has multiplied altars for sinning; altars have become for him for sinning.

I write for him the multitude of my Torah; as a strange thing they are regarded.

The sacrifices of my gifts they sacrifice—meat (basar)—and they eat; YHWH has not accepted them. Now he will remember their iniquity, and visit their sins; they shall return to Egypt.

And Israel has forgotten his Maker, and has built palaces; and Judah has multiplied fortified cities; but I will send a fire upon his cities, and it shall devour her palaces.
