In that day YHWH will punish, with his hard and great and strong sword, leviathan the fleeing serpent, and leviathan the twisting serpent; and he will slay the great sea-creature (tannin) that is in the sea.
In that day: a vineyard of delight, sing of it!
I, YHWH, keep it; I water it every moment; lest one visit harm upon it, night and day I keep it.
Fury is not in me. Who would give me briers and thorns in the battle? I would stride against it, I would burn it altogether.
Or let him take hold of my stronghold, that he may make peace with me; peace let him make with me.
Those who come, Jacob shall take root, Israel shall blossom and bud; and they shall fill the face of the world with produce.
As the blow of the one who struck him, has he struck him? Or as the slaughter of his slain, has he been slain?
In measure, when you send her away, you contend with her; he drove her out with his hard spirit (ruach) in the day of the east blast.
Therefore by this shall the iniquity of Jacob be atoned, and this is all the fruit of the removal of his sin: when he makes all the stones of the altar like chalkstones beaten in pieces, the Asherim and the sun-pillars shall not stand.
For the fortified city is solitary, a pasture forsaken and abandoned like the wilderness; there the calf grazes, and there it lies down and consumes its branches.
When its boughs are withered, they are broken off; women come and kindle them. For it is a people without understanding; therefore its Maker has no compassion on it, and its Former shows it no grace.
And it shall be in that day, that YHWH will beat off his grain from the flood of the River to the Brook of Egypt; and you shall be gathered one by one, O children of Israel.
And it shall be in that day, that a great trumpet shall be blown, and they shall come who were lost in the land of Assyria and who were scattered in the land of Egypt, and they shall worship YHWH in the holy mountain at Jerusalem.
