The word that came to Jeremiah from YHWH, saying,
Thus said YHWH, the God of Israel, saying: Write for yourself all the words that I have spoken to you in a book.
For behold, days are coming, declares YHWH, when I will turn back the captivity of My people Israel and Judah, said YHWH, and I will bring them back to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it.
And these are the words that YHWH spoke concerning Israel and concerning Judah.
For thus said YHWH: A voice of trembling we have heard, fear and not peace.
Ask now and see whether a male gives birth; why have I seen every man with his hands on his loins like a woman giving birth, and all faces are turned to paleness?
Alas! For that day is great, with none like it; and it is a time of distress for Jacob, but out of it he shall be saved.
And it shall be in that day, declares YHWH of hosts (tzevaot), I will break his yoke from off your neck, and your bonds I will tear off; and strangers shall no longer make him serve (avad).
But they shall serve (avad) YHWH their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up for them.
And you, do not fear, My servant Jacob, declares YHWH, and do not be dismayed, Israel; for behold, I am saving you (yasha) from afar, and your seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and be quiet and at ease, and none shall make him afraid.
For I am with you, declares YHWH, to save you (yasha); for I will make a full end of all the nations where I have scattered you, but you I will not make a full end; and I will chastise you to the judgment (mishpat), and I will surely not leave you unpunished.
For thus said YHWH: Incurable is your fracture, grievous your wound.
There is none judging your cause (din) for binding up; medicines of healing there are none for you.
All your lovers have forgotten you; you they do not seek; for with the wound of an enemy I have struck you, with the chastisement of a cruel one, for the abundance of your iniquity, because your sins are many.
Why do you cry out over your fracture? Incurable is your pain. For the abundance of your iniquity, because your sins are many, I have done these things to you.
Therefore all who devour you shall be devoured, and all your adversaries, all of them, shall go into captivity; and those who plunder you shall become plunder, and all who prey on you I will give for prey.
For I will bring up healing for you, and from your wounds I will heal you, declares YHWH; for they called you an outcast: She is Zion, none seeks her.
Thus said YHWH: Behold, I am turning back the captivity of the tents of Jacob, and on his dwelling-places (mishkan) I will have compassion; and the city shall be built upon its mound, and the palace shall sit upon its rightful place (mishpat).
And from them shall go out thanksgiving and a voice of those who make merry; and I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; and I will honor them, and they shall not be small.
And his sons shall be as of old, and his congregation shall be established before Me, and I will visit upon all his oppressors.
And his majestic one shall be from him, and his ruler shall go out from his midst; and I will bring him near, and he shall approach Me; for who is this who has pledged his heart to approach Me? declares YHWH.
And you shall be My people, and I will be your God.
Behold, a storm of YHWH—fury—has gone out, a sweeping storm; upon the head of the wicked it shall whirl.
The fierce anger of YHWH shall not return until He has done and until He has established the purposes of His heart; in the end of the days you shall understand it.
