1And Zophar the Naamathite answered and said:
2Should the multitude of words not be answered? And should a man (ish) of lips be justified?
3Should your boastings make men keep silent? And you mock, with none making ashamed?
4And you have said, "My teaching is pure, and I have been clean in your eyes."
5But oh that Eloah would speak, and open his lips with you,
6and that he would tell you the secrets of wisdom — for they are double to sound wisdom! Know then that Eloah lets be forgotten for you part of your iniquity.
7Can you find out the deep search of Eloah? Can you find out to the limit of the Shaddai?
8The heights of heaven — what can you do? Deeper than Sheol — what can you know?
9Longer than the earth is its measure, and broader than the sea.
10If he passes by, and shuts up, and gathers in, then who can turn him back?
11For he knows the men of vanity; and he sees iniquity, and will he not consider it?
12And a hollow man (ish) will get heart, when a wild ass's colt is born a man (adam).
13If you, you have prepared your heart, and spread out your hands toward him;
14if iniquity is in your hand, put it far away, and let not unrighteousness dwell in your tents;
15for then you will lift up your face without blemish; and you will be firmly set, and will not fear.
16For you, you will forget toil; as waters that have passed you will remember it.
17And brighter than the noonday will your lifetime arise; the darkness will be as the morning.
18And you will be confident, because there is hope; and you will look about, in safety you will lie down.
19And you will lie down, and none making afraid; and many will entreat your face.
20But the eyes of the wicked will fail, and refuge has perished from them, and their hope is the breathing out of the soul (nephesh).
