Joshua 14

Yeshua Literal Version (YLV)

And these are the inheritances which the children of Israel inherited in the land of Canaan, which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel gave them as an inheritance,

by the lot of their inheritance, as YHWH commanded (tzivvah) by the hand of Moses, for the nine tribes and the half-tribe.

For Moses had given the inheritance of the two tribes and the half-tribe beyond the Jordan; but to the Levites he gave no inheritance among them.

For the children of Joseph were two tribes, Manasseh and Ephraim; and they gave no portion to the Levites in the land, except cities to dwell in, with their open lands for their livestock and for their possessions.

As YHWH commanded (tzivvah) Moses, so the children of Israel did, and they divided the land.

And the children of Judah drew near to Joshua in Gilgal; and Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite said to him: "You know the word that YHWH spoke to Moses the man (ish) of God concerning me and concerning you in Kadesh-barnea.

Forty years old was I when Moses the servant of YHWH sent me from Kadesh-barnea to spy out the land; and I brought him back word as it was with my heart.

And my brothers who went up with me made the heart of the people melt; but I wholly followed after YHWH my God.

And Moses swore on that day, saying: 'Surely the land on which your foot has trodden shall be to you for an inheritance, and to your children forever, because you have wholly followed after YHWH my God.'

And now, behold, YHWH has kept me alive, as He spoke, these forty and five years, from the time that YHWH spoke this word to Moses, while Israel walked in the wilderness; and now, behold, I am this day eighty and five years old.

Still I am this day as strong as in the day Moses sent me; as my strength was then, so is my strength now, for the war, and for going out and for coming in.

And now give me this mountain of which YHWH spoke in that day; for you heard in that day that the Anakim are there, and cities great and fortified; perhaps YHWH will be with me, and I shall drive them out, as YHWH spoke."

And Joshua blessed him; and he gave Hebron to Caleb the son of Jephunneh for an inheritance.

Therefore Hebron became to Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite for an inheritance until this day; because he wholly followed after YHWH, the God of Israel.

And the name of Hebron formerly was Kiriath-arba; he was the great man (adam) among the Anakim. And the land was quiet from war.
