And YHWH spoke to Moses after the death of the two sons of Aaron, when they drew near before YHWH and died;
And YHWH said to Moses: Speak to Aaron your brother, that he not come at all times into the holy place within the veil, before the cover that is upon the ark, that he die not; for in the cloud I appear upon the cover.
With this Aaron shall come into the holy place: with a bull, a son of the herd, for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering.
A holy tunic of linen he shall put on, and breeches of linen shall be upon his flesh (basar), and with a sash of linen he shall gird himself, and with a turban of linen he shall be attired; they are holy garments. And he shall bathe his flesh (basar) in water and put them on.
And from the congregation of the sons of Israel he shall take two he-goats of the goats for a sin offering, and one ram for a burnt offering.
And Aaron shall present the bull of the sin offering which is for himself, and make atonement for himself and for his house.
And he shall take the two goats, and set them before YHWH at the opening of the tent (ohel) of appointed time (moed).
And Aaron shall give upon the two goats lots: one lot for YHWH, and one lot for Azazel.
And Aaron shall present the goat upon which the lot for YHWH came up, and make it a sin offering.
And the goat upon which the lot for Azazel came up shall be set alive (chai) before YHWH, to make atonement over him, to send him away to Azazel into the wilderness.
And Aaron shall present the bull of the sin offering which is for himself, and make atonement for himself and for his house, and shall slaughter the bull of the sin offering which is for himself.
And he shall take a censer full of coals of fire from upon the altar from before YHWH, and his hands full of fragrant incense, finely beaten, and bring it within the veil.
And he shall put the incense upon the fire before YHWH, that the cloud of the incense may cover the cover that is upon the testimony (edut), that he die not.
And he shall take of the blood of the bull and sprinkle with his finger upon the face of the cover eastward; and before the cover he shall sprinkle seven times of the blood with his finger.
And he shall slaughter the goat of the sin offering which is for the people, and bring its blood within the veil, and do with its blood as he did with the blood of the bull, and sprinkle it upon the cover and before the cover.
And he shall make atonement for the holy place because of the uncleannesses of the sons of Israel, and because of their transgressions, for all their sins; and so he shall do for the tent (ohel) of appointed time (moed), that dwells with them in the midst of their uncleannesses.
And no man (adam) shall be in the tent (ohel) of appointed time (moed) when he goes in to make atonement in the holy place, until he comes out; and he shall make atonement for himself, and for his house, and for all the assembly of Israel.
And he shall go out to the altar that is before YHWH, and make atonement for it; and he shall take of the blood of the bull and of the blood of the goat, and put it upon the horns of the altar round about.
And he shall sprinkle upon it of the blood with his finger seven times, and cleanse it, and sanctify it from the uncleannesses of the sons of Israel.
And when he has finished atoning for the holy place, and the tent (ohel) of appointed time (moed), and the altar, he shall present the living (chai) goat.
And Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the living (chai) goat, and confess over it all the iniquities of the sons of Israel, and all their transgressions, for all their sins, and put them upon the head of the goat, and send it away by the hand of an appointed man (ish) into the wilderness.
And the goat shall bear upon it all their iniquities to a land cut off; and he shall send away the goat in the wilderness.
And Aaron shall come into the tent (ohel) of appointed time (moed), and put off the garments of linen which he put on when he went into the holy place, and leave them there.
And he shall bathe his flesh (basar) in water in a holy place, and put on his garments, and come out, and offer his burnt offering and the burnt offering of the people, and make atonement for himself and for the people.
And the fat of the sin offering he shall make smoke upon the altar.
And he that sends away the goat to Azazel shall wash his clothes and bathe his flesh (basar) in water, and afterward he may come into the camp.
And the bull of the sin offering and the goat of the sin offering, whose blood was brought in to make atonement in the holy place, shall be carried out to outside the camp; and they shall burn in the fire their skins, and their flesh (basar), and their dung.
And he that burns them shall wash his clothes and bathe his flesh (basar) in water, and afterward he may come into the camp.
And it shall be to you an everlasting statute (chuqqah): in the seventh month, on the tenth of the month, you shall afflict your souls (nephesh), and do no work, the native and the sojourner who sojourns in your midst.
For on this day he shall make atonement for you, to cleanse you; from all your sins you shall be clean before YHWH.
A Shabbat of Shabbaton it is to you, and you shall afflict your souls (nephesh); it is an everlasting statute (chuqqah).
And the priest who is anointed, and whose hand is filled to serve as priest in place of his father, shall make atonement; and he shall put on the garments of linen, the holy garments.
And he shall make atonement for the holy sanctuary, and for the tent (ohel) of appointed time (moed), and for the altar he shall make atonement; and for the priests and for all the people of the assembly he shall make atonement.
And this shall be to you an everlasting statute (chuqqah), to make atonement for the sons of Israel because of all their sins once in the year. And he did as YHWH commanded (tzivvah) Moses.
