Proverbs 14

Yeshua Literal Version (YLV)

The wisdom of women has built her house; but folly tears it down with her own hands.

He who walks in his uprightness fears YHWH; but he who is perverse in his ways despises Him.

In the mouth of the fool is a rod of pride; but the lips of the wise preserve them.

Where there are no oxen the crib is clean; but much increase is by the strength of the ox.

A faithful witness does not lie; but a false witness breathes out lies.

The scorner has sought wisdom, and there is none; but knowledge is easy to the discerning.

Go from before a foolish man (ish), for you have not known the lips of knowledge.

The wisdom of the prudent is to discern his way; but the folly of fools is deceit.

Fools scoff at guilt; but among the upright is favor.

The heart knows the bitterness of its own soul (nephesh); and in its joy no stranger intermingles.

The house of the wicked shall be destroyed; but the tent of the upright shall flourish.

There is a way that is straight before a man (ish); but its end is the ways of death.

Even in laughter the heart is in pain; and the end of joy is grief.

From his ways the backslider in heart is filled; and a good man (ish) from himself.

The simple believes every word; but the prudent discerns his step.

A wise man fears and turns from evil; but a fool rages and is confident.

He who is short of anger does folly; and a man (ish) of schemes is hated.

The simple inherit folly; but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.

The evil bow before the good, and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.

Even by his neighbor the poor is hated; but the lovers of the rich are many.

He who despises his neighbor sins; but he who is gracious to the humble, happy is he.

Do they not go astray who devise evil? But lovingkindness and truth are for those who devise good.

In all labor there is profit; but the word of the lips leads only to want.

The crown of the wise is their riches; but the folly of fools is folly.

A true witness delivers souls (nephesh); but he who breathes out lies is deceit.

In the fear of YHWH is strong confidence; and for his children there shall be a refuge.

The fear of YHWH is a fountain of life (chai), to turn from the snares of death.

In the multitude of people is the glory of a king; but in the lack of a people is the ruin of a prince.

He who is slow to anger is of great understanding; but he who is short of spirit (ruach) exalts folly.

A sound heart is the life (chai) of the flesh (basar); but envy is the rottenness of the bones.

He who oppresses the poor reproaches his Maker; but he who honors Him is gracious to the needy.

In his evil the wicked is thrust down; but the righteous takes refuge in his death.

In the heart of the discerning wisdom rests; but in the midst of fools it makes itself known.

Righteousness exalts a nation; but reproach is the sin of peoples.

The favor of a king is toward a wise servant; but his wrath is toward him who acts shamefully.
