1Channels of water is the heart of a king in the hand of YHWH; to all that he desires he turns it.
2Every way of a man (ish) is upright in his own eyes, but YHWH weighs the hearts.
3To do righteousness and judgment (mishpat) is chosen by YHWH more than sacrifice.
4Loftiness of eyes and breadth of heart, the tillage of the wicked, is sin.
5The thoughts of the diligent tend only to abundance, but everyone who is hasty only to want.
6The getting of treasures by a tongue of falsehood is a driven vapor of those who seek death.
7The violence of the wicked drags them away, because they refuse to do judgment (mishpat).
8Crooked is the way of a man (ish) who is guilty, but the pure, his work is upright.
9Better to dwell on a corner of the roof than with a contentious wife (ishah) in a shared house.
10The soul (nephesh) of the wicked desires evil; his neighbor finds no favor in his eyes.
11When the scorner is punished, the simple becomes wise; and when the wise is given insight, he takes knowledge.
12The Righteous One considers the house of the wicked, overthrowing the wicked to ruin.
13He who stops his ear from the cry of the poor, he also will call and not be answered.
14A gift in secret subdues anger, and a bribe in the bosom strong wrath.
15It is joy to the righteous to do judgment (mishpat), but ruin to the workers of iniquity.
16A man (adam) who wanders from the way of understanding will rest in the assembly of the rephaim.
17A man (ish) of want is he who loves pleasure; he who loves wine and oil will not be rich.
18The wicked is a ransom for the righteous, and the treacherous in place of the upright.
19Better to dwell in a wilderness land than with a contentious and vexing wife (ishah).
20Desirable treasure and oil are in the dwelling of the wise, but a foolish man (adam) swallows it up.
21He who pursues righteousness and kindness finds life (chai), righteousness, and honor.
22A wise man scales the city of the mighty and brings down the strength of its confidence.
23He who keeps his mouth and his tongue keeps his soul (nephesh) from troubles.
24Proud and haughty, "scorner" is his name, he who acts in the overflow of insolence.
25The desire of the sluggard kills him, for his hands refuse to labor.
26All the day he craves a craving, but the righteous gives and does not hold back.
27The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination; how much more when he brings it with wicked intent.
28A witness of lies will perish, but a man (ish) who hears will speak forever.
29A wicked man (ish) makes bold his face, but the upright, he discerns his way.
30There is no wisdom and no understanding and no counsel before YHWH.
31A horse is prepared for the day of battle, but to YHWH belongs the deliverance.
