Michtam of David. Keep me, O God; for in you I have taken refuge.
You have said to YHWH, "You are my Lord (Adonai); my good is not beyond you."
As for the holy ones who are in the land, they, and the noble ones — all my delight is in them.
Their sorrows shall multiply who hasten after another; I will not pour out their drink offerings of blood, nor lift up their names upon my lips.
YHWH is the portion of my share and my cup; you uphold my lot.
The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; yes, the inheritance is lovely to me.
I will bless YHWH, who has counseled me; yes, in the nights my kidneys instruct me.
I have set YHWH before me always; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; my flesh (basar) also dwells in safety;
For you will not abandon my soul (nephesh) to Sheol; you will not give your faithful one to see the pit.
You make me know the path of life (chai); fullness of joys is with your face, pleasures at your right hand forever.
