1For the chief musician. A psalm of David.
2The heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament tells the work of his hands.
3Day to day pours forth speech, and night to night declares knowledge.
4There is no speech and there are no words; their voice is not heard.
5In all the earth their line has gone out, and to the end of the world their words. For the sun he has set a tent in them,
6and it is like a bridegroom coming out from his chamber; it rejoices like a mighty man to run the path.
7From the end of the heavens is its going out, and its circuit to the ends of them; and there is nothing hidden from its heat.
8The Torah of YHWH is perfect, restoring the soul (nephesh); the testimony (edut) of YHWH is sure, making wise the simple.
9The precepts of YHWH are upright, rejoicing the heart; the commandment (mitzvah) of YHWH is pure, enlightening the eyes.
10The fear of YHWH is clean, standing forever; the judgments (mishpat) of YHWH are truth, they are righteous altogether.
11They are more desirable than gold, even than much fine gold, and sweeter than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb.
12Also your servant is warned by them; in keeping them there is great reward.
13Errors, who can discern them? From hidden faults clear me.
14Also from presumptuous ones keep back your servant; let them not rule over me. Then I shall be blameless, and I shall be clear from great transgression.
15Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be for acceptance before you, YHWH, my rock and my redeemer.
