Of David. YHWH is my light and my salvation (yeshuah); whom shall I fear? YHWH is the stronghold of my life (chai); of whom shall I dread?
When evildoers drew near against me to eat my flesh (basar), my adversaries and my enemies against me, they themselves stumbled and fell.
If a camp encamps against me, my heart shall not fear; if war rises against me, in this I am trusting.
One thing I have asked from YHWH, that I will seek: my dwelling in the house of YHWH all the days of my life (chai), to gaze on the pleasantness of YHWH, and to inquire in his temple.
For he will hide me in his shelter in the day of evil; he will conceal me in the cover of his tent (ohel); on a rock he will lift me up.
And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies around me; and I will sacrifice in his tent (ohel) sacrifices of shouting; I will sing, and I will make music to YHWH.
Hear, YHWH, my voice when I call; and be gracious to me and answer me.
To you my heart has said, "Seek my face." Your face, YHWH, I will seek.
Do not hide your face from me; do not turn aside in anger your servant; you have been my help; do not abandon me and do not forsake me, God of my salvation (yeshuah).
For my father and my mother have forsaken me, but YHWH will gather me up.
Teach me, YHWH, your way, and lead me in a level path, because of those who lie in wait for me.
Do not give me up to the soul (nephesh) of my adversaries, for false witnesses have risen against me, and one breathing out violence.
Unless I had believed to look on the goodness of YHWH in the land of the living (chai)—
Wait for YHWH; be strong, and let your heart take courage; and wait for YHWH.
