1Of David. Do not fret because of evildoers; do not be envious against the workers of injustice.
2For like the grass they will speedily wither, and like the green herb they will fade.
3Trust in YHWH, and do good; dwell in the land, and feed on faithfulness.
4And delight yourself upon YHWH, and he will give you the requests of your heart.
5Roll your way upon YHWH, and trust upon him, and he will act.
6And he will bring forth like the light your righteousness, and your judgment (mishpat) like the noonday.
7Be silent to YHWH, and wait patiently for him; do not fret because of one who prospers in his way, because of a man (ish) doing wicked schemes.
8Desist from anger, and forsake wrath; do not fret — only to do evil.
9For evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait for YHWH, they shall inherit the land.
10And yet a little, and the wicked is no more; and you will look upon his place, and he is not.
11But the meek shall inherit the land, and delight themselves upon abundance of peace.
12The wicked plots against the righteous, and gnashes at him with his teeth.
13My Lord (Adonai) laughs at him, for he sees that his day is coming.
14The wicked have opened the sword, and bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, to slay the upright of way.
15Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.
16Better is a little to the righteous than the abundance of many wicked.
17For the arms of the wicked shall be broken, but YHWH upholds the righteous.
18YHWH knows the days of the blameless, and their inheritance shall be forever.
19They shall not be ashamed in the time of evil, and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
20For the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of YHWH are like the preciousness of lambs; they vanish, in smoke they vanish.
21The wicked borrows and does not repay, but the righteous is gracious and gives.
22For those blessed of him shall inherit the land, and those cursed of him shall be cut off.
23From YHWH the steps of a man are established, and he delights in his way.
24Though he falls, he shall not be hurled down, for YHWH upholds his hand.
25I have been a youth, and also I have grown old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed seeking bread.
26All the day he is gracious and lends, and his seed is for a blessing.
27Turn aside from evil, and do good, and dwell forever.
28For YHWH loves judgment (mishpat), and does not forsake his faithful ones; forever they are preserved, but the seed of the wicked is cut off.
29The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell upon it forever.
30The mouth of the righteous utters wisdom, and his tongue speaks judgment (mishpat).
31The Torah of his God is in his heart; his steps do not slip.
32The wicked watches for the righteous, and seeks to put him to death.
33YHWH will not forsake him in his hand, and will not condemn him when he is judged.
34Wait for YHWH, and keep his way, and he will exalt you to inherit the land; when the wicked are cut off, you shall see it.
35I have seen the wicked terrible, and spreading himself like a luxuriant native tree.
36And he passed by, and behold, he was not; and I sought him, but he was not found.
37Keep the blameless and see the upright, for there is a future for the man (ish) of peace.
38But transgressors shall be destroyed together; the future of the wicked is cut off.
39And the salvation of the righteous is from YHWH; he is their stronghold in the time of trouble.
40And YHWH helps them and delivers them; he delivers them from the wicked and saves them (yasha), because they have taken refuge in him.
