1And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fallen from heaven to the earth, and the key of the shaft of the abyssos(bottomless-pit) was given to him.
2And he opened the shaft of the abyssos(bottomless-pit), and smoke rose from the shaft like the smoke of a great burning furnace, and the sun and the air were darkened from the smoke of the shaft.
3And out of the smoke locusts came out onto the earth, and exousia(authority) was given to them like the exousia(authority) that scorpions of the earth have.
4And they were told not to harm the grass of the earth or any green thing or any tree, but only the people who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads.
5And it was given to them not to kill them but that they would be tormented five months, and their torment was like the torment of a scorpion when it strikes a person.
6And in those days people will seek death and will by no means find it, and they will long to die and death will flee from them.
7And the likenesses of the locusts were like horses prepared for battle, and on their heads were something like golden crowns, and their faces were like faces of people,
8and they had hair like women's hair, and their teeth were like lions' teeth,
9and they had breastplates like iron breastplates, and the sound of their wings was like the sound of chariots with many horses rushing into battle.
10And they have tails like scorpions with stingers, and in their tails is their exousia(authority) to harm people for five months.
11They have as king over them the angel of the abyssos(bottomless-pit) — his name in Hebrew is Abaddon(destruction), and in Greek he has the name Apollyon(destroyer).
12The first woe has passed; behold, two more woes are still coming after these things.
13And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard one voice from the four horns of the golden altar before God,
14saying to the sixth angel who has the trumpet, "Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates."
15And the four angels who had been prepared for the hora(that-hour) and day and month and year were released to kill a third of the people.
16And the number of the armies of cavalry was two myriads of myriads; I heard their number.
17And thus I saw the horses in the vision and those seated on them, having breastplates of fire and of hyacinth and of sulfur, and the heads of the horses were like heads of lions, and out of their mouths fire and smoke and sulfur were coming out.
18By these three plagues a third of the people were killed — by the fire and the smoke and the sulfur coming out of their mouths.
19For the exousia(authority) of the horses is in their mouths and in their tails, for their tails are like serpents having heads, and with them they do harm.
20And the rest of the people who were not killed by these plagues did not metanoeo(repent, spiritual domain) of the works of their hands — that they should not worship the demon(individual evil spirits to be expelled)s and the idols of gold and silver and bronze and stone and wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk —
21and they did not metanoeo(repent, spiritual domain) of their murders or their pharmakeia(sorcery, poisoning) or their sexual immorality or their thefts.
