Ruth 4

Yeshua Literal Version (YLV)

And Boaz went up to the gate and sat there; and behold, the redeemer of whom Boaz had spoken passing by; and he said: "Turn aside, sit here, So-and-so." And he turned aside and sat.

And he took ten men (ish) of the elders of the city and said: "Sit here." And they sat.

And he said to the redeemer: "The portion of the field which was our brother Elimelech's, Naomi, who has returned from the field of Moab, is selling.

And I said, I will uncover your ear, saying: Buy it before those sitting here and before the elders of my people. If you will redeem, redeem; but if he will not redeem, tell me, that I may know; for there is none besides you to redeem, and I am after you." And he said: "I will redeem."

And Boaz said: "In the day you buy the field from the hand of Naomi, you also buy it from Ruth the Moabitess, the wife (ishah) of the dead, to raise up the name of the dead upon his inheritance."

And the redeemer said: "I cannot redeem it for myself, lest I ruin my own inheritance; redeem for yourself my right of redemption, for I cannot redeem."

And this was formerly in Israel concerning the right of redemption and concerning the exchange, to confirm every matter: a man (ish) drew off his sandal and gave it to his neighbor; and this was the attestation in Israel.

And the redeemer said to Boaz: "Buy for yourself." And he drew off his sandal.

And Boaz said to the elders and all the people: "You are witnesses today that I have bought all that was Elimelech's, and all that was Chilion's and Mahlon's, from the hand of Naomi.

And also Ruth the Moabitess, the wife (ishah) of Mahlon, I have bought for myself for a wife (ishah), to raise up the name of the dead upon his inheritance, that the name of the dead be not cut off from among his brothers and from the gate of his place; you are witnesses today."

And all the people who were in the gate, and the elders, said: "Witnesses. May YHWH make the woman (ishah) coming into your house like Rachel and like Leah, who both built the house of Israel; and do valor in Ephrathah, and proclaim a name in Beth-lehem.

And may your house be like the house of Perez, whom Tamar bore to Judah, from the seed which YHWH shall give you from this young woman."

And Boaz took Ruth, and she became his wife (ishah), and he went in to her, and YHWH gave her conception, and she bore a son.

And the women (ishah) said to Naomi: "Blessed be YHWH, who has not caused a redeemer to shabbat for you today; and may his name be proclaimed in Israel.

And he shall be to you a restorer of soul (nephesh) and a sustainer of your old age; for your daughter-in-law who loves you, who is better to you than seven sons, has borne him."

And Naomi took the child and laid it in her bosom and became a nurse to it.

And the neighbor women called him a name, saying: "A son has been born to Naomi"; and they called his name Obed; he is the father of Jesse, the father of David.

And these are the generations of Perez: Perez begot Hezron;

and Hezron begot Ram, and Ram begot Amminadab;

and Amminadab begot Nahshon, and Nahshon begot Salmon;

and Salmon begot Boaz, and Boaz begot Obed;

and Obed begot Jesse, and Jesse begot David.
