1And again I lifted up my eyes and saw, and behold, four chariots coming out from between the two mountains; and the mountains were mountains of bronze.
2In the first chariot were red horses, and in the second chariot black horses,
3and in the third chariot white horses, and in the fourth chariot spotted, strong horses.
4And I answered and said to the angel that spoke with me, What are these, my lord?
5And the angel answered and said to me, These are the four spirits (ruach) of the heavens, going forth from presenting themselves before the Lord of all the earth.
6The one in which are the black horses goes forth to the land of the north; and the white went forth after them; and the spotted went forth to the land of the south.
7And the strong ones went forth and sought to go that they might walk to and fro in the earth; and he said, Go, walk to and fro in the earth. So they walked to and fro in the earth.
8Then he cried out to me, and spoke to me, saying, See, those that go forth to the land of the north have set my spirit (ruach) at rest in the land of the north.
9And the word of YHWH came to me, saying,
10Take from the exiles, from Heldai and from Tobijah and from Jedaiah—and you shall come the same day, and go into the house of Josiah the son of Zephaniah—who have come from Babylon;
11and take silver and gold, and make crowns, and set them upon the head of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest;
12and you shall speak to him, saying, Thus says YHWH of hosts (tzevaot), saying, Behold, a man (ish) whose name is the Branch; and from under him he shall branch up, and he shall build the temple of YHWH.
13Even he shall build the temple of YHWH; and he shall bear the majesty, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne; and a counsel of peace shall be between the two of them.
14And the crowns shall be to Helem, and to Tobijah, and to Jedaiah, and to Hen the son of Zephaniah, for a memorial in the temple of YHWH.
15And those that are far off shall come and build in the temple of YHWH, and you shall know that YHWH of hosts (tzevaot) has sent me to you. And it shall come to pass, if you will diligently hearken to the voice of YHWH your God—
