Zephaniah 3

Yeshua Literal Version (YLV)

Woe to her, rebellious and defiled, the oppressing city!

She did not listen to a voice, she did not receive correction; in YHWH she did not trust, to her God she did not draw near.

Her princes in her midst are roaring lions; her judges are wolves of the evening, they leave no bone for the morning.

Her prophets are reckless, men (ish) of treacheries; her priests have profaned that which is holy, they have done violence to the Torah.

YHWH is righteous in her midst, he does no injustice; morning by morning he gives his judgment (mishpat) to the light, it does not fail; but the unjust one knows no shame.

I have cut off nations, their corners are desolate; I have laid waste their streets so that none passes by; their cities are ruined, without a man (ish), without an inhabitant.

I said, "Surely you will fear me, you will receive correction," and her dwelling would not be cut off, all that I appointed upon her; but they rose early, they corrupted all their deeds.

Therefore wait for me, declares YHWH, for the day of my rising up to the prey; for my judgment (mishpat) is to gather nations, to assemble kingdoms, to pour out upon them my indignation, all the heat of my anger; for in the fire of my jealousy all the earth shall be consumed.

For then I will turn to the peoples a pure language, that they all may call on the name of YHWH, to serve him (avad) with one shoulder.

From beyond the rivers of Cush my suppliants, the daughter of my dispersed ones, shall bring my offering.

In that day you shall not be ashamed of all your deeds in which you transgressed against me; for then I will remove from your midst your proudly exulting ones, and you shall no more be haughty in my holy mountain.

And I will leave in your midst a people afflicted and poor, and they shall take refuge in the name of YHWH.

The remnant of Israel shall not do injustice, and shall not speak a lie, and a tongue of deceit shall not be found in their mouth; for they shall feed and lie down, and none shall make them afraid.

Sing, O daughter of Zion! shout, O Israel! be glad and exult with all the heart, O daughter of Jerusalem!

YHWH has removed your judgments (mishpat), he has cleared away your enemy; the King of Israel, YHWH, is in your midst; you shall not fear evil any more.

In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem, "Do not fear, O Zion; let not your hands hang slack."

YHWH your God is in your midst, a mighty one who saves (yasha); he will rejoice over you with joy, he will be silent in his love, he will exult over you with singing.

Those grieved away from the appointed time (moed) I have gathered—from you they were—a burden upon her, a reproach.

Behold, I am dealing with all who afflict you at that time; and I will save (yasha) the lame one, and the driven-away one I will gather; and I will make them for a praise and for a name in all the land of their shame.

At that time I will bring you in, and at the time of my gathering you; for I will make you for a name and for a praise among all the peoples of the earth, when I turn back your captivity before your eyes, says YHWH.
