Whatever has enslaved you—drink, fear, or even the world's applause and the endless thirst for success—let it be overcome by a greater longing: to feed on the Word day and night, to search it down to the very words in which it was given. As the psalmist thirsted for God as the deer for streams of water, so give yourself wholly to the Scripture, and the lesser hungers lose their hold.
There is a keeping power greater than your own—the power of God in all of Scripture. Every faithful translation carries His life. Yet when you press deeper, into the exact Word as it was given, you begin to meet Yeshua more nearly as He is—not filtered through tradition, paraphrase, or the words of men. There the Word becomes the sharp sword of the Spirit, dividing soul and spirit, joint and marrow, performing the inward surgery that only He can perform. And by that wondrous power of the Spirit, you are healed. As you continue in this Word, the holy power spoken of in these very pages guards you to the end.
Yet each person must enter in for himself. No one can go in your place. When you go into the Scripture and meet the risen Messiah Yeshua, Christ Jesus—face to face in His own Word—you are born again. There you encounter His agapē, the divine, self-giving love that God alone bestows. That love does not merely reform you; it makes you new.
For in Him, according to Scripture and the hope of the true resurrection, every chain is broken and life is made new.
