1And David and the princes of the host separated for the service (avodah) the sons of Asaph, and Heman, and Jeduthun, who prophesied with harps, with lyres, and with cymbals; and their number was the men (ish) of work for their service (avodah).
2For the sons of Asaph: Zaccur, and Joseph, and Nethaniah, and Asarelah, the sons of Asaph, by the hand of Asaph, who prophesied by the hand of the king.
3For Jeduthun: the sons of Jeduthun: Gedaliah, and Zeri, and Jeshaiah, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six, by the hands of their father Jeduthun with the harp, who prophesied to give thanks and to praise YHWH.
4For Heman: the sons of Heman: Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, and Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, and Romamti-ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, Mahazioth.
5All these were sons of Heman, the seer of the king in the words of God, to lift up the horn. And God gave to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.
6All these were by the hands of their father in song in the house of YHWH, with cymbals, lyres, and harps, for the service (avodah) of the house of God, by the hands of the king — Asaph, and Jeduthun, and Heman.
7And their number, with their brothers, instructed in song to YHWH, all the skilled, was two hundred eighty and eight.
8And they cast lots for the charge (mishmeret), alongside one another, the small as the great, the skilled with the learner.
9And the first lot came out for Asaph, for Joseph; Gedaliah the second, he and his brothers and his sons, twelve;
10the third, Zaccur, his sons and his brothers, twelve;
11the fourth, for Izri, his sons and his brothers, twelve;
12the fifth, Nethaniah, his sons and his brothers, twelve;
13the sixth, Bukkiah, his sons and his brothers, twelve;
14the seventh, Jesarelah, his sons and his brothers, twelve;
15the eighth, Jeshaiah, his sons and his brothers, twelve;
16the ninth, Mattaniah, his sons and his brothers, twelve;
17the tenth, Shimei, his sons and his brothers, twelve;
18the eleventh, Azarel, his sons and his brothers, twelve;
19the twelfth, for Hashabiah, his sons and his brothers, twelve;
20for the thirteenth, Shubael, his sons and his brothers, twelve;
21for the fourteenth, Mattithiah, his sons and his brothers, twelve;
22for the fifteenth, for Jeremoth, his sons and his brothers, twelve;
23for the sixteenth, for Hananiah, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

30for the three and twentieth, for Mahazioth, his sons and his brothers, twelve;
