1And all Israel were reckoned by genealogies, and behold they are written upon the book of the kings of Israel; and Judah was exiled to Babylon because of their treachery.
2And the first inhabitants who were in their possession, in their cities, were Israel, the priests, the Levites, and the Nethinim.
3And in Jerusalem dwelt of the sons of Judah, and of the sons of Benjamin, and of the sons of Ephraim and Manasseh:
4Uthai son of Ammihud, son of Omri, son of Imri, son of Bani, of the sons of Perez son of Judah.
5And of the Shilonites: Asaiah the firstborn, and his sons.
6And of the sons of Zerah: Jeuel, and their brothers, six hundred and ninety.
7And of the sons of Benjamin: Sallu son of Meshullam, son of Hodaviah, son of Hassenuah,
8and Ibneiah son of Jeroham, and Elah son of Uzzi, son of Michri, and Meshullam son of Shephatiah, son of Reuel, son of Ibnijah;
9and their brothers, by their generations, nine hundred and fifty-six. All these were men (ish), heads of fathers by the house of their fathers.
10And of the priests: Jedaiah, and Jehoiarib, and Jachin;
11and Azariah son of Hilkiah, son of Meshullam, son of Zadok, son of Meraioth, son of Ahitub, ruler of the house of God;
12and Adaiah son of Jeroham, son of Pashhur, son of Malchijah, and Maasai son of Adiel, son of Jahzerah, son of Meshullam, son of Meshillemith, son of Immer;
13and their brothers, heads of the house of their fathers, a thousand and seven hundred and sixty, mighty men of valor for the work of the service (avodah) of the house of God.
14And of the Levites: Shemaiah son of Hasshub, son of Azrikam, son of Hashabiah, of the sons of Merari;
15and Bakbakkar, Heresh, and Galal, and Mattaniah son of Mica, son of Zichri, son of Asaph;
16and Obadiah son of Shemaiah, son of Galal, son of Jeduthun, and Berechiah son of Asa, son of Elkanah, who dwelt in the villages of the Netophathites.
17And the gatekeepers: Shallum, and Akkub, and Talmon, and Ahiman, and their brother Shallum the chief;
18and until now they were in the king's gate eastward; they were the gatekeepers for the camps of the sons of Levi.
19And Shallum son of Kore, son of Ebiasaph, son of Korah, and his brothers, of the house of his father, the Korahites, were over the work of the service (avodah), keepers of the thresholds of the tent (ohel); and their fathers had been over the camp of YHWH, keepers of the entrance.
20And Phinehas son of Eleazar was ruler over them formerly; YHWH was with him.
21Zechariah son of Meshelemiah was gatekeeper of the entrance of the tent (ohel) of appointed time (moed).
22All those chosen to be gatekeepers at the thresholds were two hundred and twelve. They were reckoned by genealogy in their villages; David and Samuel the seer had established them in their faithfulness.
23And they and their sons were over the gates of the house of YHWH, the house of the tent (ohel), for the charges (mishmeret).
24Toward four spirits (ruach) were the gatekeepers: to the east, the west, the north, and the south.
25And their brothers in their villages were to come for seven days, from time to time, with these.
26For in faithfulness were these four mighty men of the gatekeepers; they were the Levites; and they were over the chambers and over the treasuries of the house of God.
27And round about the house of God they would lodge, for upon them was the charge (mishmeret), and they were over the key, and morning by morning.
28And some of them were over the vessels of the service (avodah), for by number they would bring them in, and by number they would take them out.
29And some of them were appointed over the vessels, and over all the vessels of the holy place, and over the fine flour, and the wine, and the oil, and the frankincense, and the spices.
30And some of the sons of the priests prepared the mixture of the spices.
31And Mattithiah, of the Levites, he was the firstborn of Shallum the Korahite, in faithfulness over the work of the flat cakes.
32And some of the sons of the Kohathites, of their brothers, were over the bread of the arrangement, to prepare it Shabbat by Shabbat.
33And these are the singers, heads of fathers of the Levites, in the chambers, free; for day and night the work was upon them.
34These were heads of the fathers of the Levites, by their generations, chiefs; these dwelt in Jerusalem.
35And in Gibeon dwelt the father of Gibeon, Jeiel; and the name of his wife (ishah) was Maacah;
36and his firstborn son was Abdon, and Zur, and Kish, and Baal, and Ner, and Nadab;
37and Gedor, and Ahio, and Zechariah, and Mikloth.
38And Mikloth begot Shimeam. And they also dwelt opposite their brothers in Jerusalem, with their brothers.
39And Ner begot Kish; and Kish begot Saul; and Saul begot Jonathan, and Malchi-shua, and Abinadab, and Eshbaal.
40And the son of Jonathan was Merib-baal; and Merib-baal begot Micah.
41And the sons of Micah: Pithon, and Melech, and Tahrea.
42And Ahaz begot Jarah; and Jarah begot Alemeth, and Azmaveth, and Zimri; and Zimri begot Moza.
43And Moza begot Binea; and Rephaiah his son, Eleasah his son, Azel his son.
44And Azel had six sons, and these are their names: Azrikam, Bocheru, and Ishmael, and Sheariah, and Obadiah, and Hanan; these were the sons of Azel.
