Kings 16

Yeshua Literal Version (YLV)

And the word of YHWH came to Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha, saying:

"Forasmuch as I raised you up out of the dust (aphar), and gave you to be ruler over My people Israel; and you walked in the way of Jeroboam, and made My people Israel to sin, to provoke Me with their sins;

behold, I am sweeping away after Baasha and after his house; and I will make your house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat.

Him that dies of Baasha in the city the dogs shall eat; and him that dies of his in the field the birds of the heavens shall eat."

And the rest of the acts of Baasha, and what he did, and his might, are they not written on the book of the words of the days of the kings of Israel?

And Baasha lay down with his fathers, and was buried in Tirzah; and Elah his son reigned in his place.

And moreover by the hand of Jehu the son of Hanani the prophet the word of YHWH came against Baasha, and against his house, both for all the evil that he did in the eyes of YHWH, to provoke Him with the work of his hands, in being like the house of Jeroboam, and because he smote him.

In the twenty-sixth year of Asa king of Judah, Elah the son of Baasha reigned over Israel in Tirzah, two years.

And his servant Zimri, captain of half the chariots, conspired against him; and he was in Tirzah, drinking himself drunk in the house of Arza, who was over the household in Tirzah.

And Zimri came in and smote him, and put him to death, in the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned in his place.

And it came to pass, when he reigned, as soon as he sat upon his throne, that he smote all the house of Baasha; he left him not one that urinates against a wall, nor his kinsmen-redeemers, nor his friends.

And Zimri destroyed all the house of Baasha, according to the word of YHWH which He spoke against Baasha by the hand of Jehu the prophet,

for all the sins of Baasha, and the sins of Elah his son, which they sinned, and which they made Israel to sin, to provoke YHWH, the God of Israel, with their vanities.

And the rest of the acts of Elah, and all that he did, are they not written on the book of the words of the days of the kings of Israel?

In the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, Zimri reigned seven days in Tirzah. And the people were encamping against Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines.

And the people that were encamped heard say, "Zimri has conspired, and also has smitten the king"; and all Israel made Omri, the captain of the host, king over Israel that day in the camp.

And Omri went up, and all Israel with him, from Gibbethon, and they besieged Tirzah.

And it came to pass, when Zimri saw that the city was taken, that he came into the citadel of the king's house, and burned over himself the king's house with fire, and died;

for his sins which he sinned, in doing the evil in the eyes of YHWH, in walking in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin which he did, to make Israel to sin.

And the rest of the acts of Zimri, and his conspiracy which he made, are they not written on the book of the words of the days of the kings of Israel?

Then the people of Israel were divided into two parts: half of the people was after Tibni the son of Ginath, to make him king; and the half after Omri.

But the people that were after Omri prevailed against the people that were after Tibni the son of Ginath; and Tibni died, and Omri reigned.

In the thirty-first year of Asa king of Judah, Omri reigned over Israel, twelve years; six years he reigned in Tirzah.

And he bought the hill Samaria from Shemer for two talents of silver; and he built on the hill, and called the name of the city which he built after the name of Shemer, the lord of the hill, Samaria.

And Omri did the evil in the eyes of YHWH, and did worse than all who were before him.

And he walked in all the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and in his sins with which he made Israel to sin, to provoke YHWH, the God of Israel, with their vanities.

And the rest of the acts of Omri which he did, and his might that he showed, are they not written on the book of the words of the days of the kings of Israel?

And Omri lay down with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria; and Ahab his son reigned in his place.

And Ahab the son of Omri reigned over Israel in the thirty-eighth year of Asa king of Judah; and Ahab the son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty-two years.

And Ahab the son of Omri did the evil in the eyes of YHWH above all who were before him.

And it came to pass, as if it were a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took as wife (ishah) Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Zidonians, and went and served (avad) Baal, and bowed down to him.

And he raised up an altar for Baal in the house of Baal which he had built in Samaria.

And Ahab made the Asherah; and Ahab did yet more to provoke YHWH, the God of Israel, than all the kings of Israel that were before him.

In his days Hiel the Bethelite built Jericho; with Abiram his firstborn he laid its foundation, and with Segub his youngest he set up its gates, according to the word of YHWH which He spoke by the hand of Joshua the son of Nun.
