1And Jehoshaphat the king of Judah returned to his house in peace to Jerusalem.
2And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to king Jehoshaphat: "Should you help the wicked, and love those who hate YHWH? And for this, wrath is upon you from before YHWH.
3Nevertheless good things are found with you, for you have burned the Asherahs out of the land, and have prepared your heart to seek God."
4And Jehoshaphat dwelt in Jerusalem, and he turned and went out among the people from Beer-sheba to the hill country of Ephraim, and brought them back to YHWH, the God of their fathers.
5And he set up judges in the land, in all the fortified cities of Judah, city by city,
6and said to the judges: "See what you are doing, for you do not judge for man (adam), but for YHWH; and he is with you in the matter of judgment (mishpat).
7And now, let the dread of YHWH be upon you; take heed and do it, for with YHWH our God there is no injustice, nor lifting of faces, nor taking of a bribe."
8And also in Jerusalem Jehoshaphat set up some of the Levites and the priests, and of the heads of the fathers of Israel, for the judgment (mishpat) of YHWH, and for controversy. And they returned to Jerusalem.
9And he commanded (tzivvah) them, saying: "Thus shall you do in the fear of YHWH, in faithfulness, and with a whole heart.
10And every controversy that comes to you from your brothers who dwell in their cities, between blood and blood, between Torah and commandment (mitzvah), statutes (chuqqim) and judgments (mishpatim), you shall warn them, that they may not become guilty toward YHWH, and wrath be upon you and upon your brothers; thus shall you do, and you shall not be guilty.
11And behold, Amariah the chief priest is over you for every matter of YHWH; and Zebadiah the son of Ishmael, the ruler of the house of Judah, for every matter of the king; and the officers, the Levites, are before you. Be strong and do, and may YHWH be with the good."
