1And Solomon began to build the house of YHWH in Jerusalem, on Mount Moriah, where he appeared to David his father, where he prepared in the place of David, in the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.
2And he began to build in the second month, on the second day, in the fourth year of his reign.
3And these are the things in which Solomon was founded to build the house of God: the length in cubits by the first measure was sixty cubits, and the breadth twenty cubits.
4And the porch that was at the front, along the length, along the breadth of the house, was twenty cubits, and the height a hundred and twenty; and he overlaid it within with pure gold.
5And the great house he covered with cypress wood, and overlaid it with good gold, and brought up upon it palm trees and chains.
6And he overlaid the house with precious stone for beauty; and the gold was gold of Parvaim.
7And he overlaid the house, the beams, the thresholds, and its walls, and its doors, with gold; and he engraved cherubim on the walls.
8And he made the house of the holy of holies; its length, along the breadth of the house, twenty cubits, and its breadth twenty cubits; and he overlaid it with good gold, to six hundred talents.
9And the weight of the nails was fifty shekels of gold. And the upper chambers he covered with gold.
10And in the house of the holy of holies he made two cherubim, work of image-work; and they overlaid them with gold.
11And the wings of the cherubim, their length was twenty cubits: the wing of the one was five cubits, reaching to the wall of the house, and the other wing five cubits, reaching to the wing of the other cherub.
12And the wing of the one cherub was five cubits, reaching to the wall of the house; and the other wing five cubits, joining to the wing of the other cherub.
13The wings of these cherubim spreading out were twenty cubits; and they stood on their feet, and their faces were toward the house.
14And he made the veil of blue, and purple, and crimson, and fine linen, and brought up upon it cherubim.
15And he made before the house two pillars, thirty-five cubits in length; and the capital that was on its top was five cubits.
16And he made chains in the inner sanctuary, and put them on the top of the pillars; and he made a hundred pomegranates, and put them on the chains.
17And he set up the pillars before the temple, one from the right and one from the left; and he called the name of the right one Jachin, and the name of the left one Boaz.
