1And as all this was finished, all Israel who were found went out to the cities of Judah, and broke in pieces the pillars, and cut down the Asherim, and broke down the high places and the altars out of all Judah and Benjamin, and in Ephraim and Manasseh, until they had finished; and all the sons of Israel returned, each man (ish) to his possession, to their cities.
2And Hezekiah appointed the courses of the priests and the Levites by their courses, each man (ish) according to his service (avodah), for the priests and for the Levites, for burnt offering and for peace offerings, to minister, and to give thanks, and to praise in the gates of the camps of YHWH.
3And the portion of the king from his substance was for the burnt offerings: for the burnt offerings of the morning and the evening, and the burnt offerings for the Shabbat (Shabbat), and for the new moons, and for the appointed times (moadim), as it is written in the Torah of YHWH.
4And he said to the people, to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to give the portion of the priests and the Levites, so that they might hold firm in the Torah of YHWH.
5And as the word spread, the sons of Israel multiplied the firstfruits of grain, new wine, and oil, and honey, and all the produce of the field; and the tithe of everything they brought in abundantly.
6And the sons of Israel and Judah who dwelt in the cities of Judah, they also brought the tithe of oxen and sheep, and the tithe of the holy things which were consecrated to YHWH their God, and they laid them in heaps, heaps.
7In the third month they began to lay the heaps in foundation, and in the seventh month they finished.
8And Hezekiah and the princes came and saw the heaps, and they blessed YHWH and His people Israel.
9And Hezekiah inquired of the priests and the Levites concerning the heaps.
10And Azariah the chief priest, of the house of Zadok, said to him, and said: "From the beginning of bringing the offering into the house of YHWH, there has been to eat and to be satisfied and to leave over in abundance; for YHWH has blessed His people, and that which is left over is this great store."
11And Hezekiah said to prepare chambers in the house of YHWH; and they prepared them.
12And they brought in the offering and the tithe and the holy things faithfully; and over them Conaniah the Levite was ruler, and Shimei his brother was second.
13And Jehiel, and Azaziah, and Nahath, and Asahel, and Jerimoth, and Jozabad, and Eliel, and Ismachiah, and Mahath, and Benaiah were overseers under the hand of Conaniah and Shimei his brother, by the appointment of Hezekiah the king, and Azariah the ruler of the house of God.
14And Kore the son of Imnah the Levite, the gatekeeper at the east, was over the freewill offerings of God, to give the offering of YHWH and the most holy things.
15And under his hand were Eden, and Miniamin, and Yeshua, and Shemaiah, Amariah, and Shecaniah, in the cities of the priests, faithfully, to give to their brethren by courses, to the great as to the small;
16besides their genealogical enrollment of males from a son of three years and upward, to everyone who entered the house of YHWH for the matter of a day in its day, for their service (avodah) in their charges (mishmeret) according to their courses;
17and the genealogical enrollment of the priests by the house of their fathers, and the Levites from a son of twenty years and upward, in their charges (mishmeret) by their courses;
18and to the genealogical enrollment of all their little ones, their wives (ishah), and their sons, and their daughters, for all the congregation; for in their faithfulness they consecrated themselves in holiness.
19And for the sons of Aaron the priests, who were in the fields of the open land of their cities, in every city and city, there were men (ish) who were designated by names, to give portions to every male among the priests, and to all the genealogically enrolled among the Levites.
20And thus did Hezekiah throughout all Judah; and he did that which was good and right and true before YHWH his God.
21And in every work that he began in the service (avodah) of the house of God, and in the Torah, and in the commandment (mitzvah), to seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered.
