2 Chronicles 36

Yeshua Literal Version (YLV)

1And the people of the land took Jehoahaz son of Josiah, and made him king in his father's stead in Jerusalem.

2A son of three and twenty years was Jehoahaz in his reigning, and three months he reigned in Jerusalem.

3And the king of Egypt removed him in Jerusalem, and fined the land a hundred talents of silver and a talent of gold.

4And the king of Egypt made Eliakim his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem, and turned his name to Jehoiakim. And Jehoahaz his brother Neco took, and brought him to Egypt.

5A son of twenty and five years was Jehoiakim in his reigning, and eleven years he reigned in Jerusalem; and he did the evil in the eyes of YHWH his God.

6Against him came up Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and bound him in bronze fetters, to carry him to Babylon.

7And of the vessels of the house of YHWH Nebuchadnezzar brought to Babylon, and put them in his temple in Babylon.

8And the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and his abominations that he did, and that which was found against him, behold, they are written upon the book of the kings of Israel and Judah; and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his stead.

9A son of eight years was Jehoiachin in his reigning, and three months and ten days he reigned in Jerusalem; and he did the evil in the eyes of YHWH.

10And at the turn of the year, king Nebuchadnezzar sent and brought him to Babylon, with the desirable vessels of the house of YHWH, and made Zedekiah his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem.

11A son of twenty and one years was Zedekiah in his reigning, and eleven years he reigned in Jerusalem.

12And he did the evil in the eyes of YHWH his God; he did not humble himself before Jeremiah the prophet from the mouth of YHWH.

13And also against king Nebuchadnezzar he rebelled, who had made him swear by God; and he stiffened his neck, and hardened his heart from turning to YHWH, the God of Israel.

14Also all the chiefs of the priests, and the people, multiplied to act treacherously, according to all the abominations of the nations; and they defiled the house of YHWH that He had sanctified in Jerusalem.

15And YHWH, the God of their fathers, sent against them by the hand of His messengers, rising early and sending; because He had compassion on His people, and on His dwelling-place.

16But they were mocking the messengers of God, and despising His words, and scoffing at His prophets, until the wrath of YHWH arose against His people, until there was no healing.

17And He brought up against them the king of the Chaldeans, and he slew their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and had no compassion on young man or virgin, old man or the aged; He gave all into his hand.

18And all the vessels of the house of God, the great and the small, and the treasures of the house of YHWH, and the treasures of the king and of his princes — all he brought to Babylon.

19And they burned the house of God, and broke down the wall of Jerusalem; and all its palaces they burned with fire, and all its desirable vessels, to destroy.

20And those who remained from the sword he carried into exile to Babylon; and they became servants to him and to his sons, until the reign of the kingdom of Persia;

21to fulfill the word of YHWH by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed its Shabbat; all the days of the desolation it shabbatted, to fulfill seventy years.

22And in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia — to complete the word of YHWH by the mouth of Jeremiah — YHWH stirred up the spirit (ruach) of Cyrus king of Persia, and he caused a voice to pass through all his kingdom, and also in writing, saying,

23"Thus says Cyrus king of Persia: All the kingdoms of the earth YHWH, the God of heaven, has given to me; and He has charged me to build for Him a house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Who is among you of all His people? YHWH his God be with him, and let him go up."
