1And the queen of Sheba heard the report of Solomon, and came to test Solomon with riddles in Jerusalem, with a very heavy company, and camels bearing spices and gold in abundance and precious stone; and she came to Solomon, and spoke with him all that was with her heart.
2And Solomon told her all her matters; and there was no matter hidden from Solomon that he did not tell her.
3And the queen of Sheba saw the wisdom of Solomon, and the house that he had built,
4and the food of his table, and the seating of his servants, and the standing of his ministers, and their apparel, and his cupbearers and their apparel, and his ascent by which he went up to the house of YHWH; and there was no more spirit (ruach) in her.
5And she said to the king, The word that I heard in my land about your matters and about your wisdom was truth.
6And I did not believe their words, until I came, and my eyes saw; and behold, the half of the abundance of your wisdom was not told to me; you have exceeded the report that I heard.
7Happy are your men (ish), and happy are these your servants, who stand before you continually and hear your wisdom.
8May YHWH your God be blessed, who delighted in you, to set you on His throne for a king for YHWH your God; in the love of your God for Israel, to establish it forever, He set you over them for king, to do judgment (mishpat) and righteousness.
9And she gave the king a hundred and twenty talents of gold, and spices in great abundance, and precious stone; and there was no such spice as that which the queen of Sheba gave to king Solomon.
10And also the servants of Huram, and the servants of Solomon, who brought gold from Ophir, brought algum trees and precious stone.
11And the king made of the algum trees stairways for the house of YHWH and for the house of the king, and harps and lyres for the singers; and there were none such seen before in the land of Judah.
12And king Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all her desire that she asked, besides that which she had brought to the king. And she turned and went to her land, she and her servants.
13And the weight of the gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred and sixty-six talents of gold,
14besides what the men (ish) of the traders and the merchants brought; and all the kings of Arabia and the governors of the land were bringing gold and silver to Solomon.
15And king Solomon made two hundred bucklers of beaten gold; six hundred of beaten gold went up on the one buckler.
16And three hundred shields of beaten gold; three hundred of gold went up on the one shield; and the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.
17And the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with pure gold.
18And six steps to the throne, with a footstool of gold fastened to the throne, and arms on this side and on that side by the place of the seat, and two lions standing beside the arms.
19And twelve lions standing there on the six steps, on this side and on that side; there was not made the like for any kingdom.
20And all the drinking vessels of king Solomon were gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were pure gold; silver was not accounted for anything in the days of Solomon.
21For ships of the king were going to Tarshish with the servants of Huram; once in three years the ships of Tarshish would come, bearing gold and silver, ivory and apes and peacocks.
22And king Solomon was greater than all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom.
23And all the kings of the earth were seeking the face of Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.
24And they were bringing, each man (ish) his present, vessels of silver and vessels of gold, and garments, weaponry, and spices, horses and mules, a matter of a year in a year.
25And Solomon had four thousand stalls for horses and chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen; and he placed them in the cities of the chariot, and with the king in Jerusalem.
26And he was ruling over all the kings, from the River even to the land of the Philistines, and to the border of Egypt.
27And the king made silver in Jerusalem like stones, and cedars he made like the sycamores that are in the lowland, for abundance.
28And they were bringing out horses from Egypt for Solomon, and from all the lands.
29And the rest of the matters of Solomon, the first and the last, are they not written upon the matters of Nathan the prophet, and upon the prophecy of Ahijah the Shilonite, and in the visions of Iddo the seer concerning Jeroboam the son of Nebat?
30And Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel forty years.
31And Solomon lay with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David his father; and Rehoboam his son reigned in his stead.
