Acts 2

Yeshua Literal Version (YLV)

And when the day of Pentecost was being fulfilled, they were all together with one mind in the same place,

and suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a rushing violent pnoe(breath), and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.

And there appeared to them tongues as of fire distributing themselves, and one sat on each one of them.

And they were all filled with hagio(holy) pneuma(spirit) and began to speak in other tongues as the pneuma(spirit) was giving them to declare.

Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem devout Jewish men from every nation under heaven,

and when this sound occurred, the crowd came together and was bewildered, because each one was hearing them speak in his own dialect.

And they were all amazed and marveling, saying to one another, "Behold, are not all these who are speaking Galileans?

And how is it that we each hear in our own dialect in which we were born?

Parthians and Medes and Elamites and those dwelling in Mesopotamia, both Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,

both Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya toward Cyrene, and the visiting Romans, both Jews and proselytes,

Cretans and Arabians — we hear them speaking in our own tongues the great things of God."

And they were all amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, "What could this mean?"

But others were mocking and saying, "They are full of new wine."

But Peter, standing with the eleven, raised his voice and declared to them: "Men of Judea and all you who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you and give ear to my rhema(spoken-word)s.

For these men are not drunk as you suppose, for it is the third hora(that-hour) of the day.

But this is what was spoken through the prophet Joel:

'And it shall be in the last days, God says, that I will pour out from My pneuma(spirit) on all sarx(flesh), and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.

Even on My male servants and on My female servants I will pour out from My pneuma(spirit) in those days, and they shall prophesy.

And I will show wonders in the heaven above and signs on the earth below — blood and fire and vapor of smoke.

The sun shall be turned to darkness and the moon to blood, before the great and glorious day of the Lord comes.

And it shall be that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.'

Men of Israel, hear these words: Yeshua(Jesus) the Nazarene, a man attested to you by God with dynamis(miracles, power) and wonders and signs that God performed through Him in your midst, just as you yourselves know —

this man, delivered over by the determined plan and foreknowledge of God, you nailed to a cross by the hands of athemitos(lawless) men and put to death.

But God raised Him up, having loosed the birth pains of death, since it was not possible for Him to be held by it.

For David says of Him: 'I was always beholding the Lord before me, because He is at my right hand so that I may not be shaken.

Therefore my kardia(heart, soul-domain) was glad and my tongue rejoiced; moreover my sarx(flesh) also will rest in elpis(hope).

For You will not abandon my psyche(soul) to Hades(the realm of the dead), nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.

You have made known to me the ways of zoe(life); You will fill me with joy in Your presence.'

Brothers, I may say to you with parresia(confidence, boldness) about the patriarch David that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is among us to this day.

Being therefore a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn to him with an oath that from the fruit of his loins He would raise up the Messiah(Christ) according to the sarx(flesh) to sit on his throne,

he foresaw and spoke about the resurrection of the Messiah(Christ), that His psyche(soul) was not abandoned to Hades(the realm of the dead), nor did His sarx(flesh) see corruption.

This Yeshua(Jesus) God raised up, of which we all are witnesses.

Therefore, having been exalted to the right hand of God, and having received the promise of the hagio(holy) pneuma(spirit) from the Father, He has poured out this which you both see and hear.

For David did not ascend into the heavens, yet he himself says: 'The Lord said to my Lord, "Sit at My right hand,

until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet."'

Therefore let all the house of Israel know for certain that God has made this Yeshua(Jesus), whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah(Christ)."

Now when they heard this, they were pierced to the kardia(heart, soul-domain) and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, "Brothers, what shall we do?"

Peter said to them, "metanoesate(Repent, spiritual domain), and each one of you be baptized in the name of Yeshua(Jesus) Messiah(Christ) for the forgiveness of sins, and you will receive the dorea(free-gift) of the hagio(holy) pneuma(spirit).

For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call."

And with many other logos(word)s he solemnly testified and was exhorting them, saying, "Be saved from this crooked generation!"

So those who gladly received his logos(word) were baptized, and that day about three thousand psyche(soul)s were added.

And they were devoting themselves to the apostles' teaching and to koinonia(fellowship) and to breaking of bread and to prayers.

And fear came upon every psyche(soul), and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles.

And all who believed were together and were holding all things in common,

and they were selling their properties and possessions and distributing them to all, as any had need.

And day by day, devoting themselves with one mind in the temple and breaking bread from house to house, they were sharing food with joy and singleness of kardia(heart, soul-domain),

praising God and having charis(grace) with all the people; and the Lord was adding those being saved day by day to the ekklesia(called-out community).
