Acts 4

Yeshua Literal Version (YLV)

Now while they were speaking to the people, the priests and the captain of the temple guard and the Sadducees came upon them,

being greatly disturbed because they were teaching the people and proclaiming in Yeshua(Jesus) the resurrection from the dead.

And they laid hands on them and put them in custody until the next day, for it was already hespera(evening).

But many of those who had heard the logos(word) believed, and the number of the men came to be about five thousand.

And it happened on the next day that their rulers and elders and scribes were gathered together in Jerusalem,

together with Annas the high priest and Caiaphas and John and Alexander and all who were of high-priestly descent.

And when they had placed them in the middle, they began to inquire, "By what dynamis(power) or in what name did you do this?"

Then Peter, filled with hagio(holy) pneuma(spirit), said to them, "Rulers of the people and elders of Israel,

if we are being examined today for a good deed done to a sick man — by what means this man has been saved —

let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Yeshua(Jesus) Messiah(Christ) the Nazarene, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead — in this name this man stands before you healthy.

This is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone.

And there is Salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."

Now as they observed the parresia(boldness) of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and common men, they were marveling, and they recognized them that they had been with Yeshua(Jesus).

And seeing the man who had been healed standing with them, they had nothing to say in reply.

But having ordered them to go outside the Sanhedrin(council), they were conferring with one another,

saying, "What shall we do with these men? For that a notable sign has happened through them is evident to all who dwell in Jerusalem, and we cannot deny it.

But so that it will not spread further among the people, let us warn them to speak no longer to anyone in this name."

And calling them, they commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Yeshua(Jesus).

But Peter and John answered and said to them, "Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, you krino(judge);

for we are not able to stop speaking the things we have seen and heard."

And having threatened them further, they released them, finding no way to punish them on account of the people, for all were glorifying God for what had happened.

For the man was more than forty years old on whom this sign of healing had taken place.

And when they were released, they came to their own people and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said to them.

And when they heard it, they lifted their voice with one mind to God and said, "Master, You are God, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and all that is in them,

who through the mouth of our father David Your servant said: 'Why did the nations rage, and the peoples plot vain things?

The kings of the earth took their stand and the rulers gathered together against the Lord and against His Messiah(Christ).'

For truly, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, were gathered together in this city against Your holy servant Yeshua(Jesus), whom You anointed,

to do whatever Your hand and Your plan predestined to occur.

And now, Lord, look upon their threats, and grant to Your servants to speak Your logos(word) with all parresia(boldness),

while You stretch out Your hand to heal, and signs and wonders occur through the name of Your holy servant Yeshua(Jesus)."

And when they had prayed, the place where they had gathered was shaken, and they were all filled with hagio(holy) pneuma(spirit) and were speaking the logos(word) of God with parresia(boldness).

And the kardia(heart, soul-domain) and psyche(soul) of the multitude of those who believed was one, and not even one said that any of his possessions was his own, but all things were common to them.

And with great dynamis(power) the apostles were giving testimony of the resurrection of the Lord Yeshua(Jesus), and great charis(grace) was upon them all.

For there was no needy person among them, for all who were owners of land or houses were selling them and bringing the proceeds of what was sold

and laying it at the feet of the apostles, and it was being distributed to each one as any had need.

Now Joseph, who was also called Barnabas by the apostles, which is translated Son of paraklesis(the act of coming alongside to call, comfort, exhortation), a Levite, a Cypriot by birth,

who owned a field, sold it and brought the money and laid it at the feet of the apostles.
