Deuteronomy 7

Yeshua Literal Version (YLV)

When YHWH your God brings you into the land where you are going to possess it, and casts out many nations before you — the Hittite, and the Girgashite, and the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite — seven nations greater and mightier than you,

and YHWH your God gives them up before you, and you strike them, you shall utterly devote them to destruction; you shall not cut a covenant (berit) with them, and you shall not show them mercy.

And you shall not intermarry with them; your daughter you shall not give to his son, and his daughter you shall not take for your son.

For he will turn aside your son from after Me, and they will serve (avad) other gods; and the anger of YHWH will be kindled against you, and He will destroy you quickly.

But thus you shall do to them: their altars you shall break down, and their pillars you shall shatter, and their Asherim you shall hew down, and their carved images you shall burn with fire.

For a holy people are you to YHWH your God; YHWH your God has chosen you to be for Him a people of treasured possession, out of all the peoples that are upon the face of the ground (adamah).

Not because you were more than all the peoples did YHWH set His love upon you and choose you — for you were the fewest of all the peoples —

but because of YHWH's love for you, and because He kept the oath which He swore to your fathers, YHWH brought you out with a strong hand, and redeemed you from the house of slaves, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

And you shall know that YHWH your God, He is God, the faithful God (El), keeping the covenant (berit) and the kindness to those who love Him and to those who keep His commandments (mitzvah), to a thousand generations,

and repaying those who hate Him to his face, to destroy him; He will not delay to the one who hates Him, to his face He will repay him.

And you shall keep the commandment (mitzvah) and the statutes (chuqqim) and the judgments (mishpat) which I am commanding you (tzivvah) this day, to do them.

And it shall be, because you hear these judgments (mishpat), and keep and do them, that YHWH your God will keep for you the covenant (berit) and the kindness which He swore to your fathers;

and He will love you, and bless you, and multiply you; and He will bless the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your ground (adamah), your grain and your new wine and your fresh oil, the increase of your cattle and the young of your flock, upon the ground (adamah) which He swore to your fathers to give to you.

Blessed shall you be above all the peoples; there shall not be among you a male or female barren, or among your cattle.

And YHWH will turn aside from you all sickness; and all the evil diseases of Egypt which you knew, He will not put upon you, but will put them upon all who hate you.

And you shall consume all the peoples whom YHWH your God is giving to you; your eye shall not pity them, and you shall not serve (avad) their gods, for it is a snare to you.

If you say in your heart: These nations are more than I; how can I dispossess them? —

you shall not be afraid of them; you shall surely remember what YHWH your God did to Pharaoh and to all Egypt,

the great trials which your eyes saw, and the signs (ot) and the wonders (mofet), and the strong hand and the outstretched arm, whereby YHWH your God brought you out; so will YHWH your God do to all the peoples of whom you are afraid.

And moreover, YHWH your God will send the hornet among them, until those who are left and those who hide themselves from before you perish.

You shall not be terrified before them; for YHWH your God is in your midst, a great and awesome God (El).

And YHWH your God will cast out those nations before you little by little; you will not be able to consume them quickly, lest the living thing (chai) of the field increase upon you.

And YHWH your God will give them up before you, and confound them with a great confusion, until they are destroyed.

And He will give their kings into your hand, and you shall make their name perish from under the heavens; no man (ish) will stand before you, until you have destroyed them.

The carved images of their gods you shall burn with fire; you shall not covet the silver and gold that is on them, and take it for yourself, lest you be snared by it; for it is an abomination to YHWH your God.

And you shall not bring an abomination into your house, and become a devoted thing like it; you shall utterly detest it, and you shall utterly abhor it; for it is a devoted thing.
