And to Moses he said, "Come up to YHWH, you and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel; and bow down from afar.
And Moses alone shall come near to YHWH; but they shall not come near, neither shall the people go up with him."
And Moses came and recounted to the people all the words of YHWH, and all the judgments (mishpat); and all the people answered with one voice, and said, "All the words which YHWH has spoken we will do."
And Moses wrote all the words of YHWH, and rose early in the morning, and built an altar under the mountain, and twelve pillars for the twelve tribes of Israel.
And he sent the young men of the children of Israel, and they offered up burnt offerings, and sacrificed peace offerings of oxen to YHWH.
And Moses took half of the blood, and put it in basins; and half of the blood he dashed against the altar.
And he took the book of the covenant (berit), and read in the ears of the people; and they said, "All that YHWH has spoken we will do, and we will hear."
And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, "Behold, the blood of the covenant (berit), which YHWH has cut with you concerning all these words."
Then Moses went up, and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel;
and they saw the God of Israel; and under his feet was like a work of sapphire pavement, and like the very heavens for clearness.
And against the nobles of the children of Israel he did not put forth his hand; and they beheld God, and they ate and drank.
And YHWH said to Moses, "Come up to me to the mountain, and be there; and I will give you the tablets of stone, and the Torah and the commandment (mitzvah), which I have written to teach them."
And Moses rose up, and Joshua his minister; and Moses went up to the mountain of God.
And to the elders he said, "Sit here for us ad(עד) we return to you; and behold, Aaron and Hur are with you; whoever is a master of matters, let him come near to them."
And Moses went up to the mountain, and the cloud covered the mountain.
And the glory of YHWH dwelt upon Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days; and he called to Moses on the seventh day from the midst of the cloud.
And the appearance of the glory of YHWH was like devouring fire on the top of the mountain in the eyes of the children of Israel.
And Moses entered into the midst of the cloud, and went up to the mountain; and Moses was in the mountain forty days and forty nights.
