Exodus 28

Yeshua Literal Version (YLV)

And you, bring near to you Aaron your brother, and his sons with him, from the midst of the sons of Israel, to act as priest to me: Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar, the sons of Aaron.

And you shall make holy garments for Aaron your brother, for glory and for beauty.

And you, you shall speak to all the wise of heart, whom I have filled with the spirit (ruach) of wisdom, that they make the garments of Aaron to sanctify him, to act as priest to me.

And these are the garments which they shall make: a breastpiece and an ephod and a robe and a tunic of checkerwork, a turban and a sash; and they shall make holy garments for Aaron your brother and for his sons, to act as priest to me.

And they, they shall take the gold, and the blue, and the purple, and the scarlet, and the fine linen.

And they shall make the ephod of gold, blue and purple, scarlet and fine twined linen, the work of a skilled designer.

Two shoulder-pieces joined shall it have at its two ends, and it shall be joined together.

And the band of its ephod which is upon it, like its work, from it shall it be: of gold, blue and purple and scarlet and fine twined linen.

And you shall take two stones of onyx, and engrave upon them the names of the sons of Israel.

Six of their names upon the one stone, and the names of the six that remain upon the second stone, according to their births.

The work of a craftsman in stone, engravings of a signet, you shall engrave the two stones according to the names of the sons of Israel; enclosed in settings of gold you shall make them.

And you shall put the two stones upon the shoulder-pieces of the ephod, stones of memorial for the sons of Israel; and Aaron shall bear their names before YHWH upon his two shoulders for a memorial.

And you shall make settings of gold.

And two chains of pure gold, twisted at the ends you shall make them, the work of cord; and you shall put the cord chains upon the settings.

And you shall make a breastpiece of judgment (mishpat), the work of a skilled designer; like the work of the ephod you shall make it: of gold, blue and purple and scarlet and fine twined linen you shall make it.

Foursquare shall it be, doubled; a span its length, and a span its breadth.

And you shall fill in it a filling of stone, four rows of stone: a row of carnelian, topaz, and emerald, the one row.

And the second row: turquoise, sapphire, and diamond.

And the third row: jacinth, agate, and amethyst.

And the fourth row: beryl, and onyx, and jasper; enclosed in gold shall they be in their settings.

And the stones shall be according to the names of the sons of Israel, twelve, according to their names; engravings of a signet, each man (ish) according to his name, they shall be for the twelve tribes.

And you shall make upon the breastpiece twisted chains, the work of cord, of pure gold.

And you shall make upon the breastpiece two rings of gold, and you shall put the two rings upon the two ends of the breastpiece.

And you shall put the two cords of gold upon the two rings at the ends of the breastpiece.

And the two ends of the two cords you shall put upon the two settings, and you shall put them upon the shoulder-pieces of the ephod toward the front of it.

And you shall make two rings of gold, and you shall put them upon the two ends of the breastpiece, upon its edge which is toward the side of the ephod inward.

And you shall make two rings of gold, and you shall put them upon the two shoulder-pieces of the ephod from beneath, toward the front of it, close by its coupling, above the band of the ephod.

And they shall bind the breastpiece by its rings to the rings of the ephod with a cord of blue, that it may be upon the band of the ephod, and the breastpiece shall not be loosed from upon the ephod.

And Aaron shall bear the names of the sons of Israel in the breastpiece of judgment (mishpat) upon his heart, when he goes in to the holy place, for a memorial before YHWH continually.

And you shall put in the breastpiece of judgment (mishpat) the Urim and the Thummim, and they shall be upon the heart of Aaron when he goes in before YHWH; and Aaron shall bear the judgment (mishpat) of the sons of Israel upon his heart before YHWH continually.

And you shall make the robe of the ephod entirely of blue.

And the opening of its head shall be in its midst; a border shall be for its opening round about, the work of a weaver; like the opening of a coat of mail shall it be for it, that it not be torn.

And upon its skirts you shall make pomegranates of blue and purple and scarlet, upon its skirts round about; and bells of gold between them round about.

A bell of gold and a pomegranate, a bell of gold and a pomegranate, upon the skirts of the robe round about.

And it shall be upon Aaron to minister; and its sound shall be heard when he goes in to the holy place before YHWH, and when he comes out, that he die not.

And you shall make a plate of pure gold, and engrave upon it engravings of a signet: HOLY TO YHWH.

And you shall put it upon a cord of blue, and it shall be upon the turban; toward the front of the turban it shall be.

And it shall be upon the forehead of Aaron, and Aaron shall bear the iniquity of the holy things which the sons of Israel sanctify for all their holy gifts; and it shall be upon his forehead continually for acceptance for them before YHWH.

And you shall weave the tunic of fine linen, and you shall make a turban of fine linen, and a sash you shall make, the work of an embroiderer.

And for the sons of Aaron you shall make tunics, and you shall make for them sashes, and headdresses you shall make for them, for glory and for beauty.

And you shall clothe with them Aaron your brother and his sons with him; and you shall anoint them, and fill their hand, and sanctify them, that they may act as priest to me.

And make for them breeches of linen to cover the flesh (basar) of nakedness; from the loins even to the thighs shall they be.

And they shall be upon Aaron and upon his sons when they go in to the tent (ohel) of appointed time (moed), or when they draw near to the altar to minister in the holy place, that they bear not iniquity and die; an everlasting statute (chuqqah) for him and for his seed after him.
