In the twenty-fifth year of our captivity, at the head of the year, on the tenth of the month, in the fourteenth year after the city was struck, on this very day the hand of YHWH was upon me, and he brought me there.
In visions of God he brought me to the land of Israel, and he set me down upon a very high mountain, and upon it was like the structure of a city on the south.
And he brought me there, and behold, a man (ish), his appearance like the appearance of bronze, and a cord of flax in his hand, and a reed of measurement; and he was standing in the gate.
And the man (ish) spoke to me: "Son of man (adam), see with your eyes and hear with your ears, and set your heart to all that I am showing you, for in order to show you, you have been brought here; declare all that you see to the house of Israel."
And behold, a wall on the outside of the house round about, round about, and in the hand of the man (ish) a reed of measurement of six cubits, by the cubit and a handbreadth; and he measured the breadth of the building, one reed, and the height, one reed.
And he came to the gate whose face is toward the east, and he went up by its steps, and he measured the threshold of the gate, one reed in breadth, and the one threshold, one reed in breadth.
And the chamber, one reed in length and one reed in breadth; and between the chambers, five cubits; and the threshold of the gate beside the porch of the gate from the house, one reed.
And he measured the porch of the gate from the house, one reed.
And he measured the porch of the gate, eight cubits, and its posts, two cubits; and the porch of the gate was from the house.
And the chambers of the gate toward the east, three from here and three from here; one measure for the three of them, and one measure for the posts from here and from here.
And he measured the breadth of the opening of the gate, ten cubits; the length of the gate, thirteen cubits.
And a border before the chambers, one cubit, and one cubit border from here; and the chamber, six cubits from here and six cubits from here.
And he measured the gate from the roof of the one chamber to its roof, a breadth of twenty-five cubits; opening against opening.
And he made the posts, sixty cubits; and to the post of the court the gate round about, round about.
And upon the face of the gate of the entrance, up to the face of the inner porch of the gate, fifty cubits.
And closed windows to the chambers and to their posts inward to the gate round about, round about, and likewise to the arches; and windows round about, round about inward; and upon each post, palm trees.
And he brought me to the outer court, and behold, chambers and a pavement made for the court round about, round about; thirty chambers upon the pavement.
And the pavement was at the side of the gates, corresponding to the length of the gates, the lower pavement.
And he measured the breadth from before the lower gate to before the inner court, from outside, a hundred cubits, the east and the north.
And the gate whose face is toward the north, to the outer court, he measured its length and its breadth.
And its chambers, three from here and three from here, and its posts and its arches were like the measure of the first gate; fifty cubits its length, and breadth twenty-five by the cubit.
And its windows and its arches and its palm trees were like the measure of the gate whose face is toward the east; and by seven steps they go up to it, and its arches were before them.
And a gate to the inner court was opposite the gate to the north and to the east; and he measured from gate to gate, a hundred cubits.
And he led me toward the south, and behold, a gate toward the south; and he measured its posts and its arches according to these measures.
And windows to it and to its arches round about, round about, like these windows; fifty cubits length, and breadth twenty-five cubits.
And seven steps were its ascents, and its arches before them; and palm trees to it, one from here and one from here, upon its posts.
And a gate to the inner court toward the south; and he measured from gate to the gate toward the south, a hundred cubits.
And he brought me to the inner court by the south gate; and he measured the south gate according to these measures.
And its chambers and its posts and its arches according to these measures; and windows to it and to its arches round about, round about; fifty cubits length, and breadth twenty-five cubits.
And arches round about, round about, length twenty-five cubits, and breadth five cubits.
And its arches toward the outer court; and palm trees upon its posts; and its ascent, eight steps.
And he brought me to the inner court toward the east; and he measured the gate according to these measures.
And its chambers and its posts and its arches according to these measures; and windows to it and to its arches round about, round about; length fifty cubits, and breadth twenty-five cubits.
And its arches toward the outer court; and palm trees upon its posts from here and from here; and its ascent, eight steps.
And he brought me to the north gate; and he measured according to these measures.
Its chambers, its posts, and its arches; and windows to it round about, round about; length fifty cubits, and breadth twenty-five cubits.
And its posts toward the outer court; and palm trees upon its posts from here and from here; and its ascent, eight steps.
And a chamber and its opening by the posts of the gates; there they wash the burnt offering.
And in the porch of the gate, two tables from here and two tables from here, to slaughter upon them the burnt offering and the sin offering and the guilt offering.
And on the side outward, as one goes up to the opening of the gate to the north, two tables; and on the other side which is to the porch of the gate, two tables.
Four tables from here and four tables from here, by the side of the gate; eight tables upon which they slaughter.
And four tables for the burnt offering, of hewn stone, length one cubit and a half, and breadth one cubit and a half, and height one cubit; upon them they lay the instruments with which they slaughter the burnt offering and the sacrifice.
And the ledges, one handbreadth, fastened in the house round about, round about; and upon the tables, the flesh (basar) of the offering.
And outside the inner gate were chambers of singers in the inner court, which was at the side of the north gate, and their faces toward the south; one at the side of the east gate, the face toward the north.
And he spoke to me: "This chamber whose face is toward the south is for the priests, the keepers of the charge (mishmeret) of the house.
And the chamber whose face is toward the north is for the priests, the keepers of the charge (mishmeret) of the altar; they are the sons of Zadok, who draw near from the sons of Levi to YHWH to minister to him."
And he measured the court, length a hundred cubits, and breadth a hundred cubits, foursquare; and the altar was before the house.
And he brought me to the porch of the house, and he measured the post of the porch, five cubits from here and five cubits from here; and the breadth of the gate, three cubits from here and three cubits from here.
The length of the porch, twenty cubits, and the breadth, eleven cubits; and by the steps which they go up to it; and pillars by the posts, one from here and one from here.
