1And Joseph could not restrain himself before all who stood by him, and he cried, "Cause every man (ish) to go out from me." And no man (ish) stood with him when Joseph made himself known to his brothers.
2And he gave his voice in weeping, and the Egyptians heard, and the house of Pharaoh heard.
3And Joseph said to his brothers, "I am Joseph; is my father still alive (chai)?" And his brothers could not answer him, for they were dismayed before his face.
4And Joseph said to his brothers, "Come near to me, I pray." And they came near. And he said, "I am Joseph your brother, whom you sold into Egypt.
5And now, do not be grieved, and let it not be kindled in your eyes, that you sold me here; for to preserve life God sent me before you.
6For these two years the famine has been in the midst of the land, and there are yet five years in which there is neither plowing nor harvest.
7And God sent me before you to set for you a remnant in the land, and to keep you alive for a great deliverance.
8And now, it was not you who sent me here, but God; and he has made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and ruler over all the land of Egypt.
9Hasten and go up to my father, and say to him, 'Thus says your son Joseph: God has made me lord of all Egypt; come down to me, do not stay.
10And you shall dwell in the land of Goshen, and you shall be near to me, you and your sons and your sons' sons, and your flocks and your herds, and all that is yours.
11And I will sustain you there — for there are yet five years of famine — lest you and your house and all that is yours come to poverty.'
12And behold, your eyes see, and the eyes of my brother Benjamin, that it is my mouth that speaks to you.
13And you shall tell my father of all my glory in Egypt, and of all that you have seen; and you shall hasten and bring down my father here."
14And he fell upon the neck of Benjamin his brother and wept, and Benjamin wept upon his neck.
15And he kissed all his brothers and wept upon them; and after that his brothers spoke with him.
16And the voice was heard in Pharaoh's house, saying, "Joseph's brothers have come"; and it was good in the eyes of Pharaoh and in the eyes of his servants.
17And Pharaoh said to Joseph, "Say to your brothers, 'This do: load your beasts and go, come to the land of Canaan;
18and take your father and your households, and come to me; and I will give you the good of the land of Egypt, and you shall eat the fat of the land.'
19And you are commanded (tzivvah): 'This do: take for yourselves wagons out of the land of Egypt for your little ones and for your wives (ishah), and carry your father, and come.
20And let not your eye spare your vessels; for the good of all the land of Egypt is yours.'"
21And the sons of Israel did so; and Joseph gave them wagons according to the mouth of Pharaoh, and gave them provision for the way.
22To all of them he gave, to each man (ish), changes of garments; but to Benjamin he gave three hundred of silver and five changes of garments.
23And to his father he sent according to this: ten donkeys carrying of the good of Egypt, and ten she-donkeys carrying grain and bread and food for his father for the way.
24And he sent his brothers away, and they went; and he said to them, "Do not be agitated on the way."
25And they went up out of Egypt, and came into the land of Canaan, to Jacob their father.
26And they told him, saying, "Joseph is still alive (chai), and he is ruler over all the land of Egypt." And his heart grew numb, for he did not believe them.
27And they spoke to him all the words of Joseph which he had spoken to them; and he saw the wagons which Joseph had sent to carry him, and the spirit (ruach) of Jacob their father revived.
28And Israel said, "It is much! Joseph my son is still alive (chai). I will go and see him before I die."
