And it came to pass, when man (adam) began to multiply upon the face of the ground (adamah), and daughters were born to them,
the sons of God saw the daughters of man (adam), that they were good; and they took for themselves women (ishah) of all whom they chose.
And YHWH said, "My spirit (ruach) shall not abide in man (adam) forever, in that he also is flesh (basar); and his days shall be a hundred and twenty years."
The Nephilim were in the earth in those days, and also after that, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man (adam), and they bore to them; they are the mighty ones who were of old, the men (ish) of the name.
And YHWH saw that the evil of man (adam) was great in the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the day.
And YHWH regretted that he had made man (adam) in the earth, and he grieved to his heart.
And YHWH said, "I will blot out man (adam) whom I created from upon the face of the ground (adamah), from man (adam) to beast, to creeping thing, and to bird of the heavens; for I am sorry that I made them."
But Noah found grace in the eyes of YHWH.
These are the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man (ish), blameless in his generations; Noah walked with God.
And Noah begot three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
And the earth was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.
And God saw the earth, and behold, it was corrupt, for all flesh (basar) had corrupted its way upon the earth.
And God said to Noah, "The end of all flesh (basar) has come before me, for the earth is filled with violence because of them; and behold, I am about to destroy them with the earth.
Make for yourself an ark of gopher wood; rooms you shall make the ark, and you shall cover it from inside and from outside with pitch.
And this is how you shall make it: three hundred cubits the length of the ark, fifty cubits its breadth, and thirty cubits its height.
A roof you shall make for the ark, and to a cubit you shall finish it from above; and the door of the ark you shall set in its side; lower, second, and third decks you shall make it.
And I, behold, I am bringing the flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh (basar) in which is the spirit (ruach) of life (chai) from under the heavens; everything that is in the earth shall expire.
But I will establish my covenant (berit) with you; and you shall come into the ark, you and your sons and your woman (ishah) and the women (ishah) of your sons with you.
And of all the living (chai), of all flesh (basar), two of each you shall bring into the ark to keep alive with you; male and female they shall be.
Of the bird after its kind, and of the beast after its kind, of every creeping thing of the ground (adamah) after its kind, two of each shall come to you to keep alive.
And you, take for yourself of all food that is eaten, and gather it to yourself; and it shall be for you and for them for food."
And Noah did according to all that God commanded (tzivvah) him; so he did.
