1And YHWH said to Noah, "Come, you and all your house, into the ark, for you I have seen righteous before me in this generation.
2Of every clean beast you shall take for yourself seven seven, a man (ish) and his woman (ishah); and of the beast that is not clean, two, a man (ish) and his woman (ishah).
3Also of the bird of the heavens, seven seven, male and female, to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth.
4For in yet seven days I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights, and I will blot out all that exists, which I have made, from upon the face of the ground (adamah)."
5And Noah did according to all that YHWH commanded (tzivvah) him.
6And Noah was a son of six hundred years, and the flood was waters upon the earth.
7And Noah went in, and his sons and his woman (ishah) and the women (ishah) of his sons with him, into the ark, because of the waters of the flood.
8Of the clean beast, and of the beast that is not clean, and of the bird, and of all that creeps upon the ground (adamah),
9two two they came to Noah into the ark, male and female, as God commanded (tzivvah) Noah.
10And it came to pass after the seven days, that the waters of the flood were upon the earth.
11In the year of six hundred years of Noah's life (chai), in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on this day all the fountains of the great deep were broken open, and the windows of the heavens were opened.
12And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.
13In the bone of this day Noah came, and Shem and Ham and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and the woman (ishah) of Noah and the three women (ishah) of his sons with them, into the ark;
14they, and every living thing (chai) after its kind, and every beast after its kind, and every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth after its kind, and every bird after its kind, every bird, every winged thing.
15And they came to Noah into the ark, two two of all flesh (basar) in which is the spirit (ruach) of life (chai).
16And those that came, male and female of all flesh (basar) they came, as God commanded (tzivvah) him; and YHWH shut [the door] behind him.
17And the flood was forty days upon the earth, and the waters increased and lifted up the ark, and it rose up from upon the earth.
18And the waters prevailed and increased greatly upon the earth, and the ark went upon the face of the waters.
19And the waters prevailed very, very much upon the earth, and all the high mountains that were under all the heavens were covered.
20Fifteen cubits upward the waters prevailed, and the mountains were covered.
21And all flesh (basar) that moved upon the earth expired: the bird, and the beast, and the living thing (chai), and every swarming thing that swarms upon the earth, and every man (adam);
22all in whose nostrils was the breath (neshamah) of the spirit (ruach) of life (chai), of all that was in the dry land, died.
23And he blotted out all that exists, which was upon the face of the ground (adamah), from man (adam) to beast, to creeping thing, and to bird of the heavens; and they were blotted out from the earth; and only Noah was left, and those who were with him in the ark.
24And the waters prevailed upon the earth fifty and a hundred days.
