Therefore, hagioi(holy) brothers, metochos(fellow-participant) in the heavenly calling, consider the apostle and high priest of our confession — Yeshua(Jesus) Messiah(Christ) —
who was faithful to the One who appointed Him, just as Moses also was faithful in all His house.
For He has been counted worthy of more doxa(glory) than Moses, by as much as the builder of a house has more honor than the house itself.
For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of all things.
And Moses was faithful in all His house as a servant, for a testimony of the things that were to be spoken;
but Messiah(Christ) was faithful as a Son over His house — whose house we are, if we hold fast the parresia(confidence, boldness) and the boasting of our elpis(hope) firm to the end.
Therefore, as the hagio(holy) pneuma(spirit) says, "Today, if you hear His voice,
do not harden your kardiai(hearts, soul-domains) as in the rebellion, on the day of testing in the wilderness,
where your fathers tested and tried me, and saw my works for forty years.
Therefore I was angry with that generation and said, 'They always go astray in their kardia(heart, soul-domain), but they have not known my ways.'
So I swore in my orge(anger, wrath), 'They shall not enter my rest.'"
See to it, brothers, that no one among you has a wicked kardia(heart, soul-domain) of unbelief in falling away from the living God.
But encourage one another every day, as long as it is called "today," so that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.
For we have become metochos(fellow-participant) of Messiah(Christ), if indeed we hold our initial confidence firm to the end.
As it is said, "Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your kardiai(hearts, soul-domains) as in the rebellion."
For who were those who heard and yet rebelled? Was it not all those who came out of Egypt through Moses?
And with whom was He angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness?
And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who were disobedient?
So we see that they were not able to enter because of unbelief.
