Isaiah 51

Yeshua Literal Version (YLV)

Hearken to me, you who pursue righteousness, you who seek YHWH; look to the rock from which you were hewn, and to the hollow of the pit from which you were dug.

Look to Abraham your father, and to Sarah who bore you; for when he was but one I called him, and I blessed him, and made him many.

For YHWH has comforted Zion; he has comforted all her waste places, and has made her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of YHWH; joy and gladness shall be found in her, thanksgiving and the voice of melody.

Attend to me, my people, and to me give ear, my nation; for Torah shall go forth from me, and my judgment (mishpat) I will set for a light of the peoples.

Near is my righteousness, my salvation (yeshuah) has gone forth, and my arms shall judge the peoples; the isles shall wait for me, and on my arm they shall hope.

Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath; for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wear out like a garment, and those who dwell in it shall die likewise; but my salvation (yeshuah) shall be forever, and my righteousness shall not be shattered.

Hearken to me, you who know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my Torah; fear not the reproach of men, and at their revilings be not dismayed.

For like a garment the moth shall eat them, and like wool the worm shall eat them; but my righteousness shall be forever, and my salvation (yeshuah) to all generations.

Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of YHWH; awake, as in the days of old, the generations of ancient times. Was it not you who hewed Rahab in pieces, who pierced the great sea-creature (tannin)?

Was it not you who dried up the sea, the waters of the great deep; who made the depths of the sea a way for the redeemed to pass over?

And the ransomed of YHWH shall return, and come to Zion with singing, and everlasting joy upon their heads; gladness and joy they shall obtain, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

I, even I, am he who comforts you; who are you that you are afraid of man who dies, and of the son of man (adam) who is made as grass;

and you have forgotten YHWH your Maker, who stretched out the heavens and laid the foundations of the earth; and you dread continually all the day because of the fury of the oppressor, as he makes ready to destroy. And where is the fury of the oppressor?

He who is bowed down hastens to be loosed; he shall not die and go down to the pit, neither shall his bread fail.

For I am YHWH your God, who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar; YHWH of hosts (tzevaot) is his name.

And I have put my words in your mouth, and in the shadow of my hand I have covered you, to plant the heavens, and to lay the foundations of the earth, and to say to Zion, "You are my people."

Rouse yourself, rouse yourself, arise, O Jerusalem, you who have drunk from the hand of YHWH the cup of his fury; the goblet, the cup of staggering, you have drunk, you have drained.

There is none to guide her among all the sons she has borne; and there is none to take her by the hand among all the sons she has brought up.

These two things have befallen you; who shall bemoan you? Desolation and destruction, and the famine and the sword; by whom shall I comfort you?

Your sons have fainted, they lie at the head of all the streets, like an antelope in a net; they are full of the fury of YHWH, the rebuke of your God.

Therefore hear now this, O afflicted one, and drunken, but not with wine.

Thus says your Lord, YHWH, and your God who contends for his people, "Behold, I have taken from your hand the cup of staggering; the goblet, the cup of my fury, you shall no longer drink it again.

And I will put it into the hand of those who afflict you, who said to your soul (nephesh), 'Bow down that we may pass over'; and you laid your back like the ground, and like the street for those who pass over."
